Where did you grow up? Boulder Junction, WI

Tell us about your family.
We live in San Tan Valley. My wife, Rebekah, works at Topgolf Gilbert as a sales manager. She also grew up in Wisconsin, where both our families still reside. We have a 2-year-old son; his name is Daxon. Our family also includes our four Chihuahuas, Dante, Daisy, Duke and Dexter. We like “D” names.

What are your favorite things to do locally? Golf, hike and sporting events

Do you have any interesting hobbies? I grow and collect bonsai trees.

What inspired you to start your business? I grew up in a family that had their own business. My family’s entrepreneurial drive and dedication inspired me to start my own business.

Walk us through the events that led to where you are now — education, past careers, life-changing decisions, etc.
I was a pipe welder for 10 years. Traveled around the country welding for five years until my wife said she wouldn’t marry me until I got off the road. I got a local welding job and worked here in Phoenix for five years. Rebekah’s father, Rick, owns an Arctic Spas dealership in Wisconsin. We thought the valley would be a great market for Arctic Spas and opened the Scottsdale location together.

What is unique about your business? We are the only Arctic Spas dealer in Arizona. 

What do you take the most pride in? The customer service we provide our customers

What sets you apart from others in your industry?
Arctic Spas Spaboy is the only fully automated saltwater sanitation system, all monitored from an app on your phone. Our saltwater system uses a dead sea salt and produces a natural chlorine instead of a chemical chlorine. It is much better for your health and skin. The cabinets are insulated instead of being packed with foam so the heat from the pumps helps keep the water warm, making it more energy efficient than all our competitors. Arctic Spas Mylovac covers are 5 inches thick, vacuumed and heat wrapped in a metal/poly bag. Mylovac covers will not get waterlogged or sag and are rated to hold 2,000 pounds. All Arctic Spas hot tubs and all-weather pools are custom built and designed to fit the customer’s specific
needs.

What do you find most fulfilling about what you do? I enjoy seeing how happy the customers are when we deliver their new hot tub.

How are you and your business involved with the community, i.e., events, educational programs, giving back, etc.? Member of the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce and help support local high school sports teams

Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what advice (whether general or specific) can you offer to the residents of the neighborhood regarding your industry? 

One of the main things is if you’re looking for alternative methods of therapy and or pain relief, then you would benefit greatly from a hot tub or all-weather pool with endless swimming for rowing or exercise.
