For Ana Mann, owner of Jazz’s Wonderland, caring for dogs is more than a business—it’s a calling that began long before she opened the doors to her whimsical Gainesville haven. Ana grew up in Brazil, where her father runs a dog rescue haven. From a young age, she was immersed in the work of saving and nurturing animals, often stepping in to care for pups with nowhere else to turn. That early experience shaped not only her love for dogs but also her profound sense of responsibility to provide them with safe and joyful lives. “Witnessing the transformative power of love and care for these animals inspired me to create a similar environment here at Jazz’s Wonderland,” Ana shares.

Her own journey has been as colorful as the world she creates for the pups in her care. At 18, Ana embarked on an international modeling career that took her to 26 countries over the course of 13 years. Life eventually brought her to New York City, where she met her husband, Dr. Stefan Mann, who was finishing medical school at the time. When Stefan was accepted into a residency program in Gainesville, the couple packed up and moved south, expecting it to be temporary. Instead, they fell in love with the city, the community, and the pace of life—and never looked back.

In 2020, Ana officially founded Jazz’s Wonderland, naming it after her own dog, Jazz, whom she adopted while living in New York. Jazz’s playful spirit and loyal heart became the inspiration behind the business, reminding Ana of the joy dogs bring and fueling her mission to create a space where pets can feel safe, loved, and celebrated.

What makes Jazz’s Wonderland different is its holistic, personalized approach. The facility features seven spacious yards, each tailored for dogs of various sizes, ages, and personalities, ensuring every pup feels comfortable and engaged. Services extend beyond boarding and daycare to include grooming and Blues’s Pawsome Bakery, the on-site gourmet dog bakery serving seasonal cookies, custom cakes, and wholesome treats made with quality ingredients. For many clients, Jazz’s Wonderland has become a one-stop shop where their pets are cared for, celebrated, and even spoiled.

Ana and her team prioritize health and safety with secure fencing, strict sanitation protocols, vaccination requirements, and temperament assessments before group play. Open seven days a week from 6:00 AM to 7:30 PM, the business also meets the needs of busy professionals—especially the healthcare workers Ana is proud to support. “Many of our clients work long shifts in medical roles,” she explains. “It’s rewarding to provide peace of mind, knowing their pups are in good hands while they care for others.”  

Her favorite part of the work? Watching puppies grow up in her care. “One of my greatest joys is seeing those tiny furballs blossom into happy, confident dogs. Every wagging tail reminds me why I love what I do.” Creativity is another hallmark of Ana’s approach. Many of her hobbies naturally weave their way into the business, enriching the experience for clients and their dogs. What began as a fun pastime in the kitchen led to the creation of Blues’s Pawsome Bakery. More recently, Ana has been crafting customized tote bags with photos of clients’ dogs and experimenting with candle-making. She also enjoys creating digital content—videos, podcasts, and social media stories—that bring the Jazz’s Wonderland community to life.

Family is at the heart of it all. Ana and Stefan are raising three daughters—Julia (4), Olivia (3), and Isabella (1) —while building their family’s future in Gainesville. Stefan runs Synergy Medical Group, and together they are committed to putting down roots in the community that welcomed them.

Community involvement is woven into Jazz’s Wonderland as well. Ana partners with local rescues and organizations like the Humane Society, fosters dogs for Plenty of Pitbulls, and participates in adoption days, craft markets, and pet-friendly festivals. The business often hosts birthday parties and seasonal celebrations for its four-legged clients, creating opportunities for owners to connect, share experiences, and celebrate milestones together.

“Jazz’s Wonderland is more than a business,” Ana says. “It’s a family. My goal has always been to create a safe, fun, loving space where dogs can thrive and owners feel at ease. Every day, I get to live that dream.”
