Chef Christa Rummel opened Capricious Local Eatery in Newberry about one year ago. The community gathering place she manifested and put so much of herself into has become a destination for family dinners, date nights, and celebrations. At its core, Capricious is a beautiful restaurant conveniently located with a delicious and thoughtfully curated menu… but it’s so much more than that! In just one year, Christa has introduced a monthly Book Club, live music, and (brace yourself), Bingo night!    

 

Despite the demands of running a successful business, Christa remains dedicated to the Newberry community she grew up in, coaching local youth soccer among other things. Our group of Tioga residents and a couple of Stroll neighborhood partners had a wonderful time! Everyone loved the food—from the smash burger to the sweet potato enchiladas to the Korean chicken sandwich and the tacos, the menu was diverse, eclectic, engaging, and tasty!
