The Salamone Group has been helping people buy and sell homes in the St. Petersburg area for over 25 years. This group, consisting of Libby Salamone and Ron Salamone, their son Andrew Salamone, and Angela Mathias, has stood the test of time. 

Libby founded the Salamone Group in St. Petersburg almost 30 years ago. After deciding she wanted to move from Tampa to the St. Petersburg area, she walked into the Bayway Islands office intending to sign up and walked out with an agreement to buy the company. She and Ron are still very active in St. Petersburg real estate, along with Andrew, his wife Lelia Salamone, and their long-time business partner Angela Mathias. 

Although The Salamone Group has a long history of working with the most desirable luxury properties, they consider luxury to be a level of service, and not a price-point. They will work with first-time homebuyers, vacation condos, vacant land, and of course high-end properties.

Meet Andrew 

Andrew started his real estate career before he could even drive a car, working as his mom's assistant in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, where Libby was a top-producing agent. 

Shortly before his senior year in high school, the Salamone family moved to Tampa, and Libby continued her real estate career, as Andrew went off to college in California, where he later became a real estate broker, founding, nurturing, and eventually selling a real estate brokerage working with luxury clients in Santa Cruz and the Monterey Bay Area. 

A former professional winemaker at a small winery in California, Andrew has a lot of life experience. He and his wife, Lelia, met in graduate school at Pacifica Graduate Institute, and he is a black belt in the martial art of Aikido. If you meet him out-and-about, he’ll tell you how experiences in all those fields lend themselves to working in luxury real estate. 

In 2002, Andrew joined his parents at what was then called RE/MAX Bayway Islands, located on the island of Tierra Verde. It is situated between the beaches and the mainland of downtown St. Petersburg. They eventually sold RE/MAX Bayway Islands and became part of RE/MAX Metro, but in late 2021, The Salamone Group joined Compass, the nation’s largest luxury real estate brokerage, with offices in Tierra Verde, Downtown St. Petersburg, and midtown Tampa. Andrew and The Salamone Group are now the Regents of Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate and luxuryrealestate.com for the entire Tampa Bay Area.

Meet Angela

“I’ve never met anyone with more natural talent for real estate,” says Andrew. “When you meet Angela, she’s your best friend within 5 seconds, and her level of professionalism is unmatched. That’s how she started working as Libby’s assistant and quickly became one of the top local realtors in her own right. She brings so much to the table, I can’t imagine working in real estate without her.”

Angela started her career in real estate 10 years ago, joining The Salamone Group. “I’ve always had a passion for real estate and beautiful homes,” she says. “Real estate seemed like a perfect fit.” She loves what she does as evident by her enthusiasm.
