Jeff Teasley is a local Cheyenne resident, born and raised.  He met his wife, April, twenty years ago. They are both University of Wyoming graduates, go Pokes! After graduation, April was offered a career in education in Cheyenne’s local school system along with a high school coaching opportunity. Jeff on the other hand…let’s just say…took a little bit of time to “figure out” what he was going to do in his adult life to support his family. It did not take long for him to be offered a banking position in the community. After a couple of years, Jeff and April decided that since they both grew up here and value the support the community has provided them through amazing opportunities, they would also raise their kids here surrounded by friends and family.

Cheyenne has always been home to them for several reasons. When Jeff thinks “why Cheyenne” he thinks of the sense of community that he observes in his town, whether it be from local service organizations such as Kiwanis, Rotary, CFD Volunteer committees, Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Club, to the local sports and educational atmosphere, to the relatively low crime rates, and he thinks “why not Cheyenne”. Cheyenne’s great community lends a welcoming atmosphere to locals and new residents. He values the ability to raise his family in an area this robust in the sense of community and for Jeff, this is very hard to beat.  

After some years in banking, the fall of 2009 rolled around and Jeff’s family made the decision that every family struggles over from time to time: the decision for him to switch careers and open his own insurance business. This decision was reached after countless hours of interviewing with multiple companies and the late-night discussions that spouses have with each other. They chose Farmers Insurance and decided to start it from “scratch”. Although running his own business was bound to come with feelings of struggle, worry, and loss, he also knew it came with feelings of accomplishment, growth and wins….and hard work is never far away. Their early stages in the business came with 80-hour work weeks, no days off, and the constant feelings of “worry” in the forefront of their minds. It also came with Jeff wearing “all of the hats” in the business.

In 2015, April and Jeff made the decision to move the business from Yellowstone Rd to the top of Central Ave and buy their own building. They wanted to re-invest not only in their business, but also in their community, so they took a chance on a building that needed some work. They had faith they could get it remodeled and updated to the current times, and although it took them until the spring of 2020 to due a “full remodel” they did. Unfortunately, this was right before Covid hit their world and the community. Throughout the pandemic, they kept every team member employed and even went as far as buying food from local restaurants and having it delivered to hospital staff, urgent cares, and other public service organizations. Again, they believe in this community and when this community “needs” something it bands together to support each other through hard times such as Covid.

Over the years, they have been able to expand their business and they are proud to say that they have ten team members today. Most of these team members are visible in the community every day whether it is at the Salvation Army, Kiwanis, Boys and Girls club, or even as your neighbor in your neighborhood.

They are grateful and honored to serve this community and this state. They are currently the biggest Farmers agency in the State of Wyoming and their knowledge of personal lines insurance, whether it be Auto, Home, Toy, Umbrella or Life, is second to none. Their commercial insurance team has also won numerous awards over the years. Jeff’s agency has been recognized as a commercial elite agency with Farmers insurance for eight years in a row and has been selected to the Farmers Presidents Council six years in a row. This includes recognition among his 13,000 peers as one of the top 100 agencies in the nation. To Jeff, this is very humbling. These awards and acknowledgments from his company mean that Jeff and his team are doing everything they can to try and help their community thrive whether clients have been affected by hail or are trying to protect their family from another type of loss with life insurance.
