Resident Book Review by Lynn Kolokowsky

Spring Reads

Watch for these books this Spring!

In addition to reading all the newest releases, I occasionally have the opportunity to read an ARC – Advance Reader Copy. Authors release ARCs for multiple reasons. If the ARC is released very early, the publisher and author are looking for feedback such as typos, incorrect wording, or other issues. If the ARC is released closer to the publication date, the publisher and author are looking for ratings, reviews, and advance buzz about the book.

I really enjoyed these ARCs and suggest you put them on your reading list.

Right on Cue by Falon Ballard, release date: February 17. Ballard is an auto-read for me. It has all my favorite elements: witty banter, enemies to lovers, small-town vibes, funny supporting characters, true connections, and heartwarming moments.

Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez, release date: April 2. Nobody writes contemporary romance better than Jimenez and this book doesn’t disappoint. This is best read after Part of Your World and Yours Truly. This will be one of the most popular romances of the year.

The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren, release date: May 15. I can always count on Christina Lauren for a deliciously hot, heartwarming, and funny rom-com. I loved the flirty, honest connection between the main characters.

Savor It by Tarah DeWitt, release date: May 21. This is a beautiful romance with a very apt name. I wanted to savor every minute of reading it. This story focuses on our small-town heroine, Sage, who has a heart of gold, as she navigates friendship and more with a disgraced chef, Fisher, who moves to town temporarily with his niece. I loved every part of this book. Read Dewitt’s Rootbound while you wait for this one.

Tangled Up in You by Christina Lauren, release date: June 25. This is a young adult/new adult modern take on Tangled/Repunzel. It was just enough of the old story mixed with modern elements to keep me engaged. There is no spice in this one, so share it with your teenager.

Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan, release date: June 4. This book has Happiness for Beginners vibes. I love that Monaghan’s novels ring so true that you can feel the emotions and believe the happily ever after.

The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center, release date: June 11. This is a beautiful slow-burn rom-com. This is a very well-written story of triumph, happiness, and love.

All books listed above are Spice Level 3 except The Rom-Commers which is a 2 and Tangled Up in You is a 1.
