Oxinas Partners Wealth Management

with Phil Dieckhoff

Lake Forest resident Phil Dieckhoff first became interested in investing and money management while studying business at the University of Kentucky. His interest was furthered during Finance and Portfolio Theory classes while pursuing an MBA at the University of Louisville. He saw a need to help people understand how to maximize their hard-earned retirement savings. After 22 years in the Navy, Phil wanted to put his MBA to use. The challenge of starting a business appealed to him and the military gave him the ability to create and follow a process. He acquired his Securities and Insurance Licenses in 2019. Entering the Registered Investment Advisory space allowed him to work as an independent fiduciary and have broad control over how he runs his business for the benefit of his clients.

Oxinas Partners Wealth Management works with individuals and businesses to create tailored investment strategies. Clients receive an in-depth financial review and recommendations followed by full portfolio management of IRA, ROTH and taxable investments, debt management and strategy, cashflow analysis for savings, and more. “We educate our clients about financial concepts and products, and help them understand investing, insurance, estate conservation, and preserving wealth. We work with local CPAs, estate attorneys, insurance agents, and other professionals to review each piece of a financial plan. One of the most gratifying parts of my job is being able to help clients build plans to reach their financial goals,” Phil told us. He enjoys getting to know his clients in all phases of their lives, from individuals in the workforce to retirees.

Phil explains it's never too early or too late to start investing. He advises, “Take advantage of compounding interest in tax-deferred accounts. During your good earnings years, get used to setting aside a portion of your income to fund your retirement, after evaluating your income, emergency cash, and debt situation. If you have dependents, understand your life insurance options and seek to protect your loved ones. Seek advice from an advisor you trust. If you work with a financial advisor, make sure they understand your financial goals and risk tolerance. Have a plan and make sure your investments are structured to achieve it. Understand the difference between trading and investing - build a diversified "all-weather" portfolio and stay invested.”

Phil grew up in Elizabethtown, Kentucky and his wife Leslie is from Louisville. Before they met, Phil was traveling with the Navy and Leslie lived in various cities working as a traveling nurse. She completed her master's degree in nursing at the University of Colorado in 2005. They both moved back to Louisville around the same time and Phil says, “Lucky for me, a close mutual friend set us up on a date.” They were engaged within a year. “I know when it's time to close a deal!” he says. They have been married for 15 years now and have three boys, ages 14, 12, and 10. The boys attend St. Patrick and Trinity, keeping their parents busy for sure!

The Dieckhoff family moved to Lake Forest in 2012 and believes it has been a great place to raise their three boys. “We are grateful to have such wonderful neighbors. The community activities are outstanding and continue to get better. Our 12-year-old knows every inch of where to fish the neighborhood lakes and creeks!” they say. The family enjoys the outdoors, so Phil plans hikes often. He loves teaching the boys about nature, the duty to preserve it, and how to survive outdoors. They love to travel and look forward to adventures as a family. They're a house divided in only one aspect - Leslie is a Cards fan and the boys and Phil are proud members of the Big Blue Nation!
