Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kristin, and I hail from Sauk Centre, MN where I grew up on a dairy farm with with five siblings. My husband Nathan an I have a 16-year-old daughter named Kenna and a 13-year-old son named Kyan. We moved to The Lakes in Blaine 11 years ago, and we welcomed our furry family member, Bowie, to our family six years ago.

We've enjoyed every moment of living in The Lakes and love living on the lake, from boating and fishing to ice skating and fishing. We also enjoy exploring the trails and walking paths in our beautiful community. Most importantly, we love the people and the sense of community that we've found here.

Although I grew up on a farm, my passion has always been in décor and fashion since I can remember. I would decorate and rearrange the rooms in our house constantly and I loved to shop and was obsessed with designers. While going to college in St Cloud, I got a job in retail and fell in love but got sucked into retail management. During this time, I still felt the need to furnish and decorate whenever I could. Buying my first townhouse was a dream for me, so I could furnish and decorate it. Friends, family and neighbors started asking for my help with their homes and it was my true happy place. So, I started to pursue interior design as a side gig.

 My professional career in Design started when I started working as a full-time Designer for a local builder NRP Homes a division of RH builder (the co-owners also have residency in The Lakes). I do all the design, selections and some project management for their luxury homes. I have learned so much about the entire build process. While working full time I was still pursuing helping others. I finally felt it was time to start my own business – KL Interior Design. I still am lucky enough to design the NRP Luxury homes and get to help clients with anything from styling a bookshelf to completely remodeling their home.

My mission is to create a space of beauty, functionality, and comfort that perfectly matches the client’s personality or the family's needs. I love to get to know my clients and work to pull together exactly what they are looking for while saving them some money. I focus on how a space is planned, how mixing materials together can make a comfortable space, as well as how texture, color, lighting and other factors combine and interact to make a space eye-catching and pleasing. My goal is to be the best Designer I can possibly be. Every day is a chance to learn and grow in my business. I have been blessed to help several residents of The Lakes do some updates to their beautiful homes and I would love to connect with anyone interested in learning more.
