How long has your family lived in the neighborhood? What do you like most about living here?
We have been in MB since 2012 and wee moved to the Hill Section in 2016. We like MB for all the traditional reasons: Beach, restaurants, shops & sunshine. We especially like the Hill Section for the great views and sense of community.
What are your cats' names, ages, sex, and breeds?
Fido is 2 years old. Sparkles is a 10 year female Birman. Boba is 5 year female silver tabby - she runs the house!, Cali is a 2 year male tuxedo with 7 toes on each front paw! Both Parrot and Flamingo are 1 year old twin tortoise shell calico's and are the babies of the bunch.
When and how did your cats come to join your family?
Sparkles and the calico's are all rescues. Cali came from the Next Door app. Boba was from the MB Home Town Fair.
Is there a story behind your cats’ names? How did you and your family come up with them?
Sparkles is short for Unicorn Sparkles. My daughter came up with this from her imagination. Boba is named after the tea drink, a favorite of my older daughter who named her. Cali, Parrot and Flamingo were sort of spur of the moment brainstorms that stuck.
What's the one trait or behavior that makes your cats stand out from the rest?
In a house of 5 cats, Boba is very assertive about getting her fair share of attention. She will jump up on your shoulders if she feels she's being ignored.
Do your pets have any unique talents or tricks?
Cali is an excellent bug catcher. Anything from flies to moths to spiders - she will go after them - which is great in a household full of arachnophobic people!
Do your pets have any favorite toys or treats?
Butter! They all like butter, so we need to be careful about leaving it out on the counter.
Are there any local businesses or parks your cats particularly enjoy visiting?
Anywhere but the vet!
If your cats could choose any adventure to go on, what would it be?
To the dairy so they could jump in the churned butter!
