BDL Heating and Cooling have been in business since 2001. They are a full-service heating, ventilating and air conditioning business located 3 minutes from The Cliffs. One of the things they pride themselves on is giving back to the community. They recently received a “Community Service Award” from Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School for their support of the Tri-County program over the years. In fact, since 2010, BDL has hired 17 Tri-County grads, 12 of which are still employed today! They support other trade schools in the area as well including MTTI, NEIT and SE Regional Vocational Technical High School.
The owner of BDL, Brian Lithway (who lives in The Cliffs), graduated from North Attleboro High School and later went to New England Tech. He tried out college at Western New England University and decided it wasn’t for him, which I think is part of what makes him so passionate about helping young technicians develop. He sees himself in a lot of them – young men who are just trying to figure things out. They currently operate two companies – BDL Heating & Cooling, Inc. and Priority One Plumbing & Heating, Inc. with a total of 50 employees between the two companies.
In addition to supporting local trade schools, BDL sponsored a Blood drive on June 4th. The American Red Cross brought their mobile blood drive to the Plainville area to give residents the opportunity to show up and help save a life. In the midst of a crucial blood shortage, donating blood right now is very important. The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. This mobile blood truck travels to different events and businesses in the area to make it easier for the community to donate. Not only does this event mean a lot to the community, but it also means a lot to the people who run the mobile blood drive. After the donors gave blood, Brian was in the kitchen “chef”ing up breakfast sandwiches, burgers and more for the donors. What an amazing way to give back and appreciate people!
On behalf of the Cliffs Living staff, BDL Heating and Cooling, and American Red Cross, we want to say thank you for showing up and giving blood. This is what makes the Cliffs such a special community. We want to turn neighborhoods into communities, and you are doing just that.
