Tips for Sending Your Photos
Sending in Photos!!
We Absolutely Love receiving your photos and writeups. They make the publication so much more interesting to read. We encourage you to take photos and write a small or long clip to go with your photos. We want to publish all of them. All of your community events, birthdays, BBQs, friend gatherings, everything.
The one problem we are running into is that some of the pictures are unusable because of the small size of the file or blurry. This can be easily remedied by using the following tips. This way your Amazing memories can be documented in your neighborhood publications. We really appreciate and want to Thank you for all your photo and article submissions. Please keep them coming, and always reach out if you have an idea or need help.
Please email your photos and articles or ideas to amy.porter@n2co.com
First Tip:
Make sure that your digital camera, iPhone, or Android Phone is set on the highest resolution setting. Whatever you are taking a picture of, the higher resolution, the clearer your pictures are going to be. All cameras and phone settings are different in quality options. You want to look for the largest image size setting or the highest resolution setting. If you don't have an owner's manual, you can go online and find instructions for your camera or phone camera. Youtube is a great information source on this subject. I use it for a lot of howtos. Some of the things you can refer to when searching would be Image Quality, Resolution, or File Size. These search terms will help you find how to get the best quality images.
Second Tip:
The larger the file size the better the quality will most likely be. To check file size you can use some of the tips below:
- Right-Click the image file and go to the properties
- A decent photo for inside the publication will generally be 500kb and above (there is 1,000kb in 1MB).
Another way to check your file size is when you attach it to the email, look to the right of the file name and it will have the size of the file. If it's fewer than 500kb, it will be too small.
Third Tip:
When you are saving the pictures onto your computer, make sure that you put them in a folder on the computer itself and not just saved them in a folder with the software for the camera or photo-sharing software. The reason for this is, the camera software or photo sharing software, such as Snapfish, Canon, Nikon, or some phone software, will automatically compress the pictures and make the file smaller. Which will make it hard to get your photos uploaded to the publisher software.
Fourth Tip:
I know that all of this above can be confusing. So when in doubt about your photos that we so desperately want you to share. Just email them to amy.porter@n2co.com or text her at 864-356-1443. She can do magic with any photo you send her or at least help you send it to her.
This way we don't miss out on any Amazing Events.
