On Tuesday, November 25, all three Dublin City School District high school marching bands — Dublin Jerome, Dublin Coffman, and Dublin Scioto — shared a once-in-a-lifetime experience as they marched in the EPCOT Center Parade at Walt Disney World. The opportunity brought students, directors, and staff together for a memorable celebration of music, teamwork, and school pride on a national stage.
Performing at EPCOT is a prestigious honor for high school marching bands, requiring months of preparation, discipline, and dedication. As the bands made their way through the park, they showcased not only their musical talent, but also the spirit and unity that define the Dublin schools. Guests from around the world stopped to watch, cheer, and capture the moment as the students performed with confidence and enthusiasm.
For many of the musicians, marching at EPCOT marked the culmination of years of hard work. Early morning rehearsals, long practices, and countless hours spent perfecting routines all led to this special day. Band directors and staff emphasized the importance of professionalism, teamwork, and representing their schools with pride — lessons that extend far beyond the parade route.
In addition to the performance, the trip provided students with the chance to bond outside of the classroom and rehearsal field. From traveling together to experiencing the parks, the shared memories strengthened friendships and created lasting connections among students from all three high schools. Parents and staff alike praised the experience for its positive impact on student confidence and morale.
The event also highlighted the strength of the Dublin City Schools music programs, which continue to offer students opportunities to grow creatively while developing leadership, responsibility, and collaboration skills. Marching together in such an iconic setting reinforced the sense of community across the district and celebrated the role of the arts in student life.
As the final notes echoed through EPCOT and the parade came to a close, students returned home with more than just photos and souvenirs. They carried with them a renewed sense of pride, accomplishment, and unforgettable memories from an experience they will remember for years to come. For Dublin’s marching bands, the EPCOT Center Parade was not just a performance — it was a milestone moment that celebrated music, dedication, and the power of coming together.
