I am not a big fan of oysters, however, I am a big fan of drinking and dining on rooftops. So when Jason called to say we were going to write a restaurant review for the new Six South rooftop bar located on top of the Partridge Inn, I was all in!
When we arrived we were greeted with a glass of champagne. I don't know about you, but if I start out with champagne, I know it's going to be a great evening!
The new renovation was a welcomed sight. Just about everybody that's going to read this article, has been to the Partridge Inn at some point in their life. And probably on the rooftop. Most will remember that there were bedrooms available to rent. Those are now gone making way for nicer bathrooms, an actual bar, and a kitchen, making the venue a much more suitable place for events.
As stated, not much of a fan of oysters, so I thought it might be a good idea to eat something before I got there. But as John Lennon once said, "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans." Life really got in my way of eating something before heading out. This actually turned out to be a good thing. Not only were there oysters, but an array of fresh and flavorful seafood, including baby lobster tails! For those Summerville neighbors that weren't necessarily into seafood there was perfectly prepared meat with crostini and an assortment of lovely vegetables.
Luckily, the desserts were visible from the get-go, so I saved room and I'm so glad I did. Delicious macaroons, bacon bourbon cupcakes and caramel nut cheesecake. I threw caution to the wind and had all three. And I wasn't the only one that was going to be up all night from a sugar high. Jason can I get an amen?!
We all had a fabulous evening and I know you will, too. Plan to visit there soon. And if you have an upcoming event or know someone that is planning to have an event get in touch with Madalyn Neal. She is the director of sales and marketing. I'm sure Madalyn and the rest of her staff will take very good care of you. They will make sure that your event is a memorable one. I'm looking forward to making more memories at the Partridge Inn's new rooftop bar Six South. Hope to see you there!
