What started as a technology class at school has grown into a creative hobby and budding business for Ashwood Court resident Jackson Buyea.

Jackson, 13, is a seventh grader at Lancaster Middle School with a passion for technology, design, and creating things from scratch. After being introduced to 3D printing in his technology class, he became fascinated by the possibilities. Inspired by seeing other 3D-printed creations, Jackson began researching the process on his own and experimenting with ideas at home.

Today, he designs and creates a variety of 3D-printed items, with a special focus on Buffalo sports-themed magnets featuring local favorites like the Bills and Sabres. He also enjoys creating practical organizers, holders, and gadgets that help make everyday tasks a little easier.

One of Jackson’s favorite parts of running his own business is coming up with new magnet designs. While he initially started by working with online templates, he has steadily expanded his skills and now creates more of his own original designs as he continues learning.

Along the way, Jackson has discovered that running a business involves more than just creativity. One lesson that surprised him was the cost of equipment and supplies needed to bring ideas to life. Still, he says one of his proudest accomplishments has simply been learning how to independently create and produce his own products.

Rather than focusing on a single favorite creation, Jackson is always looking ahead to the next project. His goal is to continue expanding his design abilities and exploring new ideas that push his skills even further.

When he isn't working on 3D printing projects, Jackson enjoys playing video games and staying active in the community. He participates in Miracle League baseball, Adaptive Kenpo, and wheelchair basketball.

With a creative mind, entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to keep learning, Jackson is proving that age is no barrier when it comes to turning ideas into reality.
