Double the Mischief: Meet Miko & Kiko
Two spirited brothers go from shelter life to a home full of love, laughter, and a little chaos.
Aloha, neighbors! We’re Miko and Kiko—two short-haired, mischievous brothers who joined the neighborhood in June. We’re about 7 months old now—that’s like preschool age in human years! Miko means “salty” and Kiko means “spots” in Hawaiian—our names are a tribute to our aunt and uncle who were stationed in Hawaii for over 20 years during their military service.
We’re equal parts angels and troublemakers—okay, maybe Miko causes a little more chaos, as he can get very salty when he doesn’t get enough attention. We’re known for our crazy wrestling matches, dramatic leaps off the couch mid-pounce, and ambushing our older siblings, Belle and Stormy. Our biggest fear? The vacuum. No question. We think it might be alive.
When we had just turned 10 weeks old, we were living at Ten Lives Club in Lancaster, across from Hillview Elementary. It’s a truly amazing place. The staff were so kind, and all of us kitties were safe, healthy, and cared for like royalty. Our humans instantly connected with us, and we knew we were going to a good home. If you’re ever looking to adopt, we highly recommend Ten Lives Club—they really live up to their name.
Since moving in, we’ve been on a mission: Operation Keep Belle and Stormy Young. They’re our big siblings who are 8 years old and still full of sass. At first, they were a little unsure about us, as we’re very energetic, but they’re warming up and sometimes chase us around.
We’re most grateful for our cozy home, unlimited snuggles, and the humans who talk to us like we’re tiny roommates with opinions!
We are the Ertl family, with parents Michelle and Peter, son Jordan—who is a junior at Daemen University—and Colin, who is a senior at Lancaster High School. We're a close-knit crew who enjoys traveling, especially to MLB stadiums. Our goal is to see them all eventually. This year, we are at 8 out of 30!
