Heirloom by HerringStones: Where Style Meets Experience

Built on generations of fashion expertise, Heirloom by HerringStones offers more than clothing; it delivers a personalized styling experience designed to make women feel confident and seen.

For Hanna Lavergne, Heirloom by HerringStones is more than a boutique. It is the continuation of a legacy, a reflection of lifelong experience, and a space intentionally created to serve women in a meaningful way.

The story begins long before the doors opened in Sugar Mill Pond. In 1989, Hanna’s mother and aunt founded HerringStones Boutique in Monroe, Louisiana. Growing up, Hanna was immersed in the business from an early age, learning everything from merchandising to marketing long before she officially stepped into ownership.

In 2010, she expanded the HerringStones brand to Lafayette, and just a few years later, the opportunity for something new emerged. At the same time, Claire Texada, who had previously worked alongside Hanna at HerringStones Lafayette during her college years, was ready for a change from her career in education. The timing aligned, and in 2017, the two partnered to open Heirloom by HerringStones in Sugar Mill Pond, a sister store rooted in both friendship and shared vision.

“Being able to continue a family legacy while also building something new with Claire is something I am incredibly proud of,” Hanna states.

Today, led day-to-day by Clare, Heirloom stands as both an extension of a family legacy and a boutique with its own identity, one that blends elevated style with a deeply personal customer experience.

What is Heirloom by HerringStones, and what can neighbors expect?
Heirloom is a sister store to HerringStones, built on the idea of something meaningful being passed down from one generation to the next. When you walk in, you can expect more than just shopping. We really focus on creating an experience where you feel welcomed, comfortable, and taken care of. Whether you are looking for something specific or just browsing, our goal is for you to leave feeling confident in what you are wearing.

What sets Heirloom apart from other boutiques in Acadiana?
There is a lot of overlap in brands within our industry, so what really separates us is our customer service and our styling. We train and hire based on personality first because we want our team to truly connect with our customers and be aligned with our brand. Beyond that, styling is one of our biggest strengths. There is a difference between just wearing something and being styled, and that is where we come in. We help women step outside of what feels “safe” and into what makes them feel confident.

Can you explain more about the styling experience?
Our team is trained to style head to toe. We are intentional about pulling pieces that you may not choose for yourself, but that end up being exactly what you needed. It is about building confidence. When you walk out, we want you to feel beautiful, comfortable, and excited about where you are going. It is not just about the clothes, it is about how you feel in them.

How do you create that experience inside the store?
We pay attention to every detail, from how the store is merchandised to the color palettes, the music, and even the scent when you walk in. All of that creates a feeling. We want it to feel warm, welcoming, and elevated at the same time. When you combine that with genuine customer service, it becomes more than a transaction; it becomes an experience.

What has it meant to open Heirloom in Sugar Mill Pond?
It has meant everything. This is where we live and raise our families, so to have a business here is incredibly special. The support from this community has been overwhelming in the best way. We truly feel that support every single day, and it has allowed us to grow alongside the people we serve.

What continues to inspire you as the business grows?
The relationships. That is what keeps us going. Seeing women walk in unsure and leave feeling confident, and then watching them come back again and again because they felt taken care of, that is everything to us. At the end of the day, we are not just helping women get dressed; we are helping them show up as their best selves, and that is what continues to inspire me.

In many ways, what Hanna and Claire have created goes beyond style. It is about passing down confidence, care, and a meaningful experience from one generation to the next, the very essence of an heirloom.
