Good as Goldie

Sweet, gentle, and always nearby, Goldie Girl is the heart of her home.

Hi! My name is Goldie. Yes, Goldie Girl. I’m a one-year-old Goldendoodle, and I live in a very busy, very loving house where cuddles are serious business and attention is meant to be shared equally. Preferably with me.

My family brought me home for two very important reasons. First, to help keep our older dog, Honey, young. Second, to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Honestly, I think both were excellent decisions. Honey needed a little extra spark, and my people needed a little extra joy. Enter: me.

There’s no dramatic story behind my name. No long explanation. They just liked it. And honestly, same. It fits me perfectly.

I’m known around here for being extremely sweet and very cuddly. If someone sits down, I sit down. If someone is hugging someone else, I notice immediately. I will run across the room at top speed if I see attention happening without me. I don’t interrupt. I simply insert myself.

One of my favorite things in the world is my family’s kids. I love them so much. I follow them, sit with them, and make sure they never feel alone. I’m very good at that job.

I’m also a good listener. Most of the time. If you ask me to do something I agree with, I’m all ears. If you ask me to do something I don’t want to do, I suddenly can’t hear very well. It’s strange.

I wouldn’t say I’m overly spoiled. I have rules. I have boundaries. I’m just very loved. And I like it that way.

When I first came home, life got a little scary for a bit. Not long after my arrival, we found out that Honey had two slipped discs. It was a stressful time for everyone. But I did what I do best. I stayed close, kept spirits up, and brought some light into the house when it was needed most. Now, Honey and I can play and snuggle together, and I make sure she never feels left out.

Recently, we celebrated a very big milestone. My first birthday was on January 19. I’m officially one, which means I am still playful, still cuddly, and still fully committed to running toward any moment of affection happening in my general direction.

I may have been brought home to keep Honey young, but I think I ended up doing a lot more than that. I keep this house full of love, warmth, and just the right amount of golden fluff.

I’m Goldie. And if you need a cuddle, I’m already on my way.
