Yard of Lance and Lulu David

When you walk up to the Davids’ home in the newest section of Sugar Mill Pond, you immediately notice that the yard feels calm and inviting. The soft sound of the fountain, warm evening lighting, and thoughtful layout make it a space meant to be enjoyed, not just admired.

Lulu David describes the courtyard as a “harmonious fusion of modern and traditional Spanish architecture,” and that balance shows throughout the design. Decomposed granite leads into layered stone planter beds, while lavender, rosemary, Texas sage, Japanese yew, muhly grass, lamb’s ear, succulents, and bougainvillea add texture, fragrance, and color without overwhelming the space.

At the center, the fountain framed by patterned tile anchors the front beds, while an olive tree in an antique concrete planter adds a timeless, old-world touch. Designed and installed by Horticare Landscapes, the Davids’ yard is a beautiful example of thoughtful outdoor design and a well-earned Yard of the Month.
