The Beauty in the Balance
Hanna Lavergne shares how motherhood and entrepreneurship come together in a life that is full, fast, and deeply meaningful.
The Lavergne family is rooted in love, tradition, and a deep appreciation for both community and connection. Hanna and her husband, Jarrad, have built a beautiful life together alongside their two children, Luke (7) and Herrington Kate, affectionately called HK, who is 4 years old.
Their home is filled with energy, laughter, and one very loved four-legged family member. Louie, their 8-year-old white Goldendoodle, is known for his sweet and funny personality and for being a bit of a neighborhood celebrity. “He’s basically one of our family members,” Hanna shares. “You can usually find him roaming the neighborhood if he sneaks out the door.”
Hanna and Jarrad’s story began in 2010, just one month after she opened her very first HerringStones Boutique location in River Ranch. “I actually spotted him across the restaurant at Bonefish,” she laughs. “Then about a month later, I saw him again at Rhythms on the River. That night we met, he got my number, and we’ve been together ever since.”
As a family, their favorite moments are often the simplest ones, spent together around the table or outside enjoying time as a family. Whether it’s playing games with the kids, heading to the park, or cheering from the sidelines, Hanna finds the most joy in watching her children do what they love. “I enjoy watching their hobbies more than having one of my own,” she says.
When it comes to dining out, the family loves local spots that feel relaxed and family friendly. El Paso in Youngsville is a go-to favorite, and they have also been loving one of the area’s newer hot spots, Smash. Both offer the perfect environment where the kids can run around while the adults enjoy good food, live music, and time with friends.
At home, meals are centered around comfort and togetherness. Hanna especially loves cooking chicken and dumplings, a nod to her North Louisiana roots, during the colder months. Outside of that, you will often find the family gathered on their back patio grilling steaks or burgers, hosting friends, and soaking in the lifestyle they have created.
Traditions play a meaningful role in their home, especially during the holidays. “Christmas is a highlight for us,” Hanna shares. “We have traditions that have been in place for as long as I can remember.” From big celebrations to small seasonal moments, the Lavergne family finds ways to make every holiday feel special.
Living in Sugar Mill Pond has only deepened that sense of connection and belonging. “The community here is something I have never experienced before,” Hanna says. “It is beautiful, not just the neighborhood, but the people. It truly feels like home.” She describes it as a place filled with like-minded families who value connection, lifestyle, and raising children in a vibrant, welcoming environment. “It is a place I never want to leave.”
As both a mom and a business owner, Hanna describes her days as “beautifully chaotic.” There is rarely a typical day, but most begin with getting the kids ready for school and coordinating drop off, sometimes making the drive across town to Fatima, and other days leaning on the strong community of friends in Sugar Mill Pond who help with carpooling. “It truly takes a village,” she says.
From there, her role as CEO and CFO of HerringStones Boutique begins immediately. She leads a multi-location business while actively scaling and growing the brand into its next chapter. Her days are filled with leading her team, overseeing marketing and creative direction, buying inventory, merchandising stores, and planning for future growth, including franchising opportunities.
One of the most meaningful parts of that growth is having a store right in the heart of the community she calls home. Heirloom by HerringStones, located in Sugar Mill Pond, holds a special place in Hanna’s journey, not just as a business, but as a reflection of the people who support it. “To have a storefront right here where we live, raise our children, and do life, it means everything,” she shares.
While the business may appear seamless from the outside, Hanna is candid about the reality behind it. “I work really hard to make everything look easy,” she shares, “but the day-to-day is fast, demanding, and often challenging.” In the world of fast fashion, the pace is relentless, constantly evolving, always moving, and requiring quick decisions and adaptability. “It is ever changing, ever growing, and it does not slow down. There’s really no such thing as being caught up, just a moment where you take a breath before the next delivery hits.”
She intentionally structures her week to stay aligned. Mondays are dedicated to administrative work. Tuesdays focus on photoshoots and content creation. Wednesdays are for follow-ups and podcast recording. Thursdays are spent remerchandising stores and preparing for the weekend. By Friday, she shifts into customer-facing mode, hosting live social media sessions and spending time in the store connecting with both her team and customers.
“I’ve learned pretty quickly that even the best planned schedule usually gets rewritten by about 10:00 AM.”
Outside of work, her evenings are fully devoted to her children’s activities. Luke is actively involved in Lafayette Little League and travel baseball, while HK is balancing dance at The Movement and her very first season of T-ball. “Every night we are busy, busy, busy,” Hanna says. “But it is the best kind of busy.”
Evenings wind down with dinner, bath time, and a little quiet time before bed, small moments that bring balance to the fast pace of the day. “It’s full, it’s busy, and it’s beautifully chaotic,” Hanna says. “And most days, I’m just trying to figure out if I’ve had coffee or if I’m running purely on adrenaline.”
For Hanna, the most rewarding part of balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship is the example she is setting. “I want my children to see what it looks like to work hard for something you believe in, to know that you can love your family deeply and still pursue big dreams.” Watching them understand that her work is about building something meaningful, not just staying busy, has become one of her greatest joys.
But like many working mothers, the journey is not without its challenges. “The biggest challenge is the mental load,” she says. “Balancing leadership decisions, payroll, strategy, and then shifting into sports schedules, homework mode, and somehow funding what feels like a full grocery bill in afterschool snacks.” Through it all, she is learning the importance of boundaries, communication, and giving herself grace. “I am not perfect at it, but I am learning to be present where my feet are.”
Above all, Hanna hopes her children walk away with something deeper than success. “I hope they learn resilience, that success does not come without hard work, tough conversations, and perseverance. I hope they see integrity, creativity, and heart. And most importantly, I hope they know that everything I am building is for them, to show them what is possible.”
