Our June Neighborhood Night Out was one for the books! On Wednesday, June 18th, neighbors gathered at The Cajun Mansion Event Venue for an evening full of good food, great conversation, and LSU baseball—what more could we ask for?

The venue, owned by Sugar Mill Pond resident Sandra Booher, was the perfect backdrop for the event. Once her family’s home, Sandra has since turned it into a beautiful bed and breakfast and event space that now hosts all sorts of celebrations—from weddings and showers to relaxed neighborhood get-togethers like this one. We’re lucky to have such a gem so close to the neighborhood!

And speaking of lucky... the food was incredible. Huge thanks to Half Shell Oyster House for catering the event with their crowd-pleasing spread: bacon shrimp and grits, chicken fettuccine, and sweet potato casserole that had everyone talking (and maybe sneaking seconds).

In addition to Cajun Mansion Event Venue and Half Shell Oyster House, we were also glad to have a few of our other Preferred Partners join in on the fun—neighbor Jerry Derrick with VerdiSec Solutions, Thomas Robin with New York Life, and Conner Matherne with Fish Window Cleaning. We appreciate their support in helping make the magazine possible and for providing such amazing services to our residents.

And of course, we couldn’t miss out on cheering for our LSU Tigers! The game was on throughout the evening, adding the perfect touch of excitement and camaraderie as neighbors gathered around to cheer and chat between bites.

A big thank you to Sandra and her staff for hosting us, to Half Shell for the unforgettable meal, and to everyone who came out and made the night so special. Events like this are what make Sugar Mill Pond feel like home.
