Kirsten Prosser
Designing a Life Around What Matters Most
It’s vital in life to create memories. Kirsten Prosser and her husband, Eddie, take this seriously.
Kirsten and Eddie have fun together every day – a major achievement after 25 years of marriage
– and spend quality time with their children and grandchildren whenever possible. “It’s important
that you have traditions because that’s what kids take with them as memories when they get
older,” Kirsten told us.
Kirsten grew up in Denmark and Sweden. Her mother passed away when Kirsten was very young, so
her grandparents became major figures in her life. Her grandmother told her: “Whatever you
want to do, whatever you want to be, you can do it.’” Kirsten took those words to heart. She
loves design, studied design, and while living in Spain, created clothing designs with a friend.
This friend, who was older than Kirsten and Swedish, had an equally great design sense and was
a role model. “She was a good person,” said Kirsten.
Kirsten and Eddie have a blended family of four kids and 11 grandkids. Kirsten loves having a
Swedish Christmas holiday at her home every year with her family. Her grandkids call her “mor mor”
(“grandmother” in Swedish.) “They remember that they spent Christmas at mor mor’s house,”
Kirsten told us fondly. Last year, in 2025, Kirsten and Eddie celebrated their 25th wedding
anniversary. “That’s a big landmark, I would think, to stay together with one person for that
long,” she said. Her advice to couples is that “you have to choose your battles, and it’s important
that you have fun. Eddie makes me laugh. He’s very caring. We love being together.”
Kirsten and Eddie opened a luxury consignment shop together, OnQueStyle, which has been
going strong for 15 years. She and Eddie have fun with a related live IG every Tuesday and
Friday. This shop is one of Kirsten’s happy places, although she might wish for more time to
spend with family, which is also very important to her.
In the past, Kirsten designed her own clothes and did some painting. She counts the famous French designer, Coco Chanel, as one of her biggest influences. While in Spain, she and her friend made a lot of Chanel suits for their clients. “She’s so classy,” Kirsten commented. Kirsten enjoys new trends and also favors
timeless design that can be modern and traditional at once.
Another influence is Jaqueline Kennedy, who was renowned for her classic style. Favorite icon, Joan Rivers, always cracked Kirsten up. “I would have loved to go into her closet,” Kirsten said.
Kirsten hopes that her friends and family will think of her for the special quality time they all
spend together. And that they consider her a good, trustworthy person. She knows that today’s
world can be hard for young people to navigate. Her advice is to always stay truthful and to
believe in yourself. “You can put your mind to anything. You can do anything. Especially in this
country. You can succeed if you just work for it.”
