The Edinburgh Marlins Swim Team Wraps Up an Epic Summer Season

Congratulations to our 2025 County Qualifiers!
As the final cheers echoed across the pool deck and the sun dipped behind the clubhouse, the Edinburgh Marlins closed out an unforgettable summer with a home meet win that was nothing short of spectacular. Facing off against the formidable Rivershyre Sharks—who arrived 94 swimmers strong, outnumbering our 72 meet-day swimmers—it might have looked like an uphill battle. But in true Marlins spirit, we dove in with determination, heart, and a whole lot of team pride.
From the first whistle to the last relay, our swimmers turned out personal bests, nail-biting finishes, and unforgettable moments. The energy on deck was electric, with parents, coaches, and teammates cheering each other on as if every race were the Olympic final. That final score? A hard-earned, well-deserved victory for the Marlins, capping off a season that was equal parts grit and joy.
Throughout the summer, our roster of 92 swimmers brought talent, tenacity, and team spirit to every practice and meet. From early morning practices to themed meet days and spirited swim cheers, this season was about more than just fast times—it was a celebration of friendship, community, and character. We saw brand-new swimmers courageously dive into their first races, seasoned teammates take younger swimmers under their wing, and relays that felt like something out of a sports movie montage. Every swimmer, no matter their times or ribbons, brought something special to the team.
Following our final regular season meet, the Marlins gathered for one last Fun Friday—a tradition that has become a highlight of the summer. The pool deck transformed into a celebration zone, complete with splashy games, a visit from the ice cream truck, and the wildly entertaining moment when swimmers got to pie the coaches! It was the perfect blend of joy, mischief, and memory-making before shifting gears for County.
That momentum carried us into the County Swim Meet, held July 11–13, where 42 Marlins qualified to represent Edinburgh—one of the highest numbers our team has ever sent. Highlights from County included several podium finishes, thrilling photo finishes, and excited parents cheering from the stands as their athletes raced to the wall. Whether setting personal records or anchoring relay wins, our swimmers gave it their all and made the Marlins proud.
To the coaches who strategized and motivated, to the parents who volunteered, timed, and transported, and to the swimmers who gave it their all—thank you. Your energy, commitment, and sportsmanship made this season shine.
As we pack away the kickboards and hang up our goggles (at least until next summer), we do so with full hearts and the satisfaction of a season well swum. Go Marlins—we’re already counting down to next year!
