Meet Andrea Csogi
A Life Stitched Together with Art and Heart

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, she grew up in the Hungarian section of town and did not speak a word of English until age six. Daily life revolved around school, church, and community, all ofwhich were deeply rooted in her Hungarian heritage.
Her love for learning eventually led to a career in teaching. For 17 years, she taught both art and elementary education, sharing her creativity and kindness with countless students. Along the way, she raised two daughters, Amy and Abby, who remain at the center of her life today.
Her late husband, Roger, shared her love of art. He crafted birdhouses and decorated them with intricate woodburning, turning each one into a work of art. A true animal lover, he had a natural bond with every creature he met, and they seemed to love him just as much in return.
Life has taken her from New Jersey to Indiana, then back to Pennsylvania, and once again to Indiana after her daughters moved here. In 2021, she made her home at Britton Falls, where she quickly became involved in many community groups. She has found joy and connection through Bible Study, Book Club, Needle Works, the Singles Group, the Mudsocks Quilt Guild, and her Mosaic Street neighbors.
She is also known for her love of the holidays. Wintertime is her favorite season, filled with sparkling snow and the nostalgia of Christmas. Decorating is a joy, and she often keeps a touch of holiday cheer in her home year-round.
Creativity has been a constant thread in her life. She learned to sew at age ten from her Aunt Helen, starting with doll clothes and later making outfits for her daughters, along with rabbits, teddy bears, and Raggedy Ann dolls of many nationalities. These handmade treasures were often sold in consignment shops in Indiana. She even made clothing for herself.
Quilting did not become a passion until later in life. In the beginning, everything was stitched by hand, block by block. After stepping away to raise her children and return to teaching, she discovered the advances of sewing machines, which opened up a whole new world of possibilities.
Her talents extend beyond fabric, she paints with watercolors, and does needleworks. Her home is filled with artwork that reflects both skill and heart. Together with the memory of Roger's craftsmanship, her life is a beautiful blend of artistry, love, and community.
