Back to School Supply Drive
Sterling Loves Teachers!
Andrea Champagne-LCAA High School teacher and Fernanda Zamora- Buford High School teacher
Nichole Beard had a great idea put on her heart this year. She wanted to help set the teachers in our neighborhood up for success this school year with a supply drive. Nichole decided to organize the Educator Supply Drive, giving teaching supplies to all the teachers in our neighborhood. She could not have organized such a great event without the help of the clubhouse staff, Jennifer Goodin and Fanny Lopez.
Nichole said it warmed her heart to see how much this event helped teachers in our neighborhood. She said, “Listening to their stories, seeing how much it was helping them had me teary-eyed. Teachers put so much of themselves out there for our children. You can see the love. Doing this event was definitely a way to thank them and show they are greatly appreciated. Especially after the pandemic.”
Fernanda Zamora was one of the recipients of the school supplies. When asked about the event she said, “I teach high school, so I usually have around 140 students on my roster. That’s a lot of supplies! I’m so grateful for the kindness that Sterling is showing its teachers! We appreciate it so much!”
Fernanda’s coworker at Buford High School, Jason Hamilton, was also there picking up supplies. He said, “I want to thank everyone who contributed to the supplies. I am very grateful and appreciate what you have done for the teachers and students.”
Nichole would love this to be an annual event. Getting involved is as easy as donating supplies to volunteering on the day of the event. She appreciated the amazing sign SignosaurusRex graciously donated to highlight the event and is thankful to everyone who donated and volunteered to make this event a success!
We are so thankful for all our teachers do and we wish them the best of luck this school year!
