Built to Serve, Drive to Protect
Meet Savage Grant of StrongHouse
There are some people whose careers seem to change dramatically over the years, yet when you look closely, there is one thread connecting everything they have done.
For Savage Grant, that thread is service.
She has served her country. She has studied how to care for people. She has raised a family. She has supported veterans, animals, schools and her community. And today, she serves homeowners by helping protect the place where their own families' stories unfold.
Savage is a mother of six sons, a 15-year United States Army veteran, a motorcycle enthusiast, and a highly educated professional whose academic background includes an associate degree in nursing, a bachelor's degree in biological chemistry and a master's degree in clinical psychiatry.
It isn't necessarily the résumé you would expect from someone in the roofing and exterior industry. But spend a little time talking with Savage, and it makes perfect sense. Because to her, this business isn't really about roofs.
It's about people.
It's about the family sleeping underneath that roof. It's about the homeowner who worked for decades to afford the house beneath it. It's about telling someone the truth—even when the truth doesn't result in a sale. And perhaps most importantly, it's about being able to look a neighbor in the eye afterward and know you did right by them.
“Every family that trusts me to inspect their home will be treated as I would want someone to treat me or my loved one.”
That philosophy is at the center of Savage's work with StrongHouse. A Different Standard for an Industry That Needs One.
StrongHouse is a national company created by professionals with more than 75 years of combined industry knowledge and experience, brought together around a simple idea: homeowners deserve better.
Better products.
Better workmanship.
Better communication.
And better accountability.
The company's mission is to challenge the negative reputation that can sometimes surround the roofing and exterior industry by building a brand centered on excellence and integrity.
For Savage, however, that national experience becomes very personal when she's serving families here at home. “My favorite part is that I get to provide the highest quality of the roofing and exteriors industry with integrity to my own neighbors and serve the community I am part of,” she says.
StrongHouse provides roofing, gutters, windows, doors and siding, with an emphasis on what Savage calls “true lifetime solutions.” Rather than approaching a project by asking, What's the cheapest way we can get this done?, the goal is to ask a very different question:
What's the right way to do this so the homeowner doesn't have to worry about doing it all over again?
That means using high-quality materials and relying on educated, dependable installation crews. It also means sometimes having a difficult conversation with homeowners about price.
Savage understands why people want the lowest quote. Home repairs are expensive, and no one enjoys discovering that their roof or exterior needs significant work. But the cheapest solution can become incredibly expensive when it has to be done twice. One of Savage's clients, Simeon A., learned that lesson firsthand.
“My experience with Savage was one I wish I had appreciated the first time. I chose a different contractor for my roof replacement. I didn't listen when she told me that I would get the lowest quality for the lowest price. She was right.”
According to Simeon, leaks began just three weeks after the less-expensive roof was installed, and the original contractor wouldn't make the problem right.
“I had to pay for my roof twice,” he said, adding that after ultimately working with Savage, he now has confidence in the lifetime warranty protecting his home.
It's a story Savage wishes homeowners never had to experience. Protecting More Than a House A home is likely the largest financial investment most families will ever make. But its value goes far beyond a number on a mortgage statement.
It's where children grow up. Where birthdays are celebrated. Where family gathers around the table. Where dogs wait at the door. Where photographs cover the walls and memories slowly fill rooms. And all of it sits underneath a roof most of us rarely think about—until something goes wrong.
That's why Savage encourages homeowners not to wait for water dripping from the ceiling before paying attention to their home's exterior. “I have never met one homeowner who said they wish they had waited to address an issue with their home,” she says. “But on a daily basis I interact with owners who wish they had acted sooner.”
Her advice to residents is simple: be proactive.
A yearly inspection of the roof and exterior—particularly when an inspection is available at no charge—can identify smaller problems before they become expensive surprises. And when repairs or replacement eventually become necessary, Savage encourages homeowners to consider more than the number at the bottom of an estimate.
“Please consider quality over lowest price when you are looking at protecting your largest investment. In this industry, you get what you pay for.”
StrongHouse is especially excited about its work as an installer of DaVinci Roofscapes and Unified Steel products—options designed to combine long-lasting performance with the beauty homeowners expect from a premium exterior.
For Savage, that's where the idea of a “lifetime solution” becomes especially meaningful. The goal isn't simply to complete another project.
It's to help homeowners make a decision today that they may never have to make again.Service Didn't End With the Uniform
Perhaps the best way to understand Savage isn't through the services StrongHouse offers.
It's through the communities she continues to serve.
After spending 15 years in the United States Army, supporting veterans remains deeply important to her. Savage and her team are proud to support veteran organizations including Vets Helping Vets, the VFW and the American Legion.
StrongHouse also supports local education, and because the office is run and operated by animal lovers, they support rescue organizations including Angels Among Us Rescue and Boarding.
Those commitments say something important about Savage.
Military service may be part of her history, but service itself never became past tense. The uniform changed. The mission changed. The people she serves changed. But the desire to protect and take care of others remained.
Today, sometimes that means helping a veteran. Sometimes it means helping an animal find support. And sometimes it means climbing onto someone's roof and giving a homeowner information they need to make the right decision for their family.
“My Job Is Not to Sell.”
Savage also understands one of the biggest challenges of entering a new market: homeowners naturally recognize familiar names. Being newer to the area means StrongHouse has had to earn that recognition one homeowner and one project at a time. Savage is comfortable with that. Because she isn't interested in earning someone's business simply because they saw a logo enough times. She wants to earn something considerably harder to obtain: their trust.
Her philosophy can be summed up in one sentence.
“My job is not to sell. My job is to provide true and accurate information.”
For a homeowner, those words matter. There may be times when the answer is that work needs to be done. There may be times when it doesn't.
Either way, Savage wants the family standing in front of her to receive the same advice she would want someone to give her own family. Maybe that comes from raising six sons. Maybe it comes from 15 years in the Army.
Maybe it comes from her education and years spent learning about people.
Most likely, it's a combination of all of it. Because while StrongHouse may specialize in protecting homes, Savage Grant has spent much of her life doing something remarkably similar: protecting people.
And when you invite someone to evaluate the place your family calls home, that's not a bad person to have standing on your doorstep.
