Building Community: McClurg Partners with A Tiny Home for Good

This partnership is about more than building homes — it’s about building a stronger, more connected community. One of the first steps in our collaboration is focusing on sustainability by donating and recycling quality materials from our remodeling projects.
We’re grateful to the clients who have already embraced this initiative by choosing to donate items like cabinets, tiles, and fixtures. When materials are in great shape, we now discuss recycling options with homeowners as part of our renovation process. It’s a simple way to give parts of a home new life — turning yesterday’s kitchen cabinets or bathroom tiles into part of a future home for the next family.
We want to send a special thank you to our amazing clients who chose to donate their cabinets, seen in the first photo below. These materials found a second life in a new kitchen (second photo) built by A Tiny Home for Good — providing a fresh start for someone in need.
A Tiny Home for Good is not new, and neither is this mission. For years, community members across Syracuse have worked to support neighbors experiencing homelessness. Under the leadership of Andrew Lunetta and his dedicated team, this vision is becoming a reality — with every tiny home they build.
Their work is grounded in the “Housing First” approach, which prioritizes safe, permanent housing before anything else. At A Tiny Home for Good, they believe in the healing power of a well-built home. “When you can come home and rest your head safely, knowing this is your space — imagine what your life can become.” It’s a philosophy that resonates deeply with our team at McClurg.
For years, McClurg’s Public Relations Coordinator, Maggie Hartnett, followed the progress of A Tiny Home for Good from afar. “I grew up in the Strathmore neighborhood,” Hartnett says. “My heart has always been in the City of Syracuse, so to see people creating space to care for this community was really exciting to me.”
Once Maggie joined McClurg Remodeling and saw firsthand the company’s mission of “building and rebuilding community,” she knew a partnership made sense. “With the skills and talent of the McClurg Team and the heart and drive of A Tiny Home for Good, we could make a big impact.”
With this shared vision, the two teams got to work — and a partnership was born. McClurg has begun donating quality materials from remodeling projects, and Jamie Sprague, McClurg Co-Owner and Architectural Project Manager, has joined the organization’s Board of Directors to help deepen our involvement.
This is just the beginning. A Tiny Home for Good is currently seeking corporate sponsors, and there are many ways to get involved. Whether it's donating materials, volunteering, or offering financial support, every contribution helps provide a safe, dignified home for someone in need.
