A Community Call to Support Our Skaneateles Docks

For more than 32 years, the Skaneateles Community Docks have been an essential part of lake life. They provide access for residents and visitors to enjoy the water, gather with friends and family, and experience the beauty of Skaneateles Lake up close. This year, we also celebrate a special milestone: the 10-year anniversary of the current docks, continuing this long-standing tradition of access and connection to the lake.
These docks are more than just a place to tie up a boat. They are a shared community resource that benefit us all. To keep them safe, clean, and welcoming, we have dedicated summer dock staff who work daily to maintain and care for the docks throughout the busy season. Their efforts ensure a positive experience for everyone who uses this cherished space.
As part of our efforts to support and celebrate the docks, we are excited to host our annual event, Rock the Dock, taking place on June 9th from 5:00–7:00 PM aboard the Judge Ben Wiles. Ticket holders will enjoy light bites from The Sherwood Inn while mingling with others and taking in the beauty of Skaneateles Lake. The evening will also include a scenic cruise sponsored by Mid-Lakes Navigation. Tickets will be available on our website beginning May 1st.
As with any valued community asset, ongoing maintenance and care are essential. We are asking for your support to help preserve and sustain our docks for years to come.
If you use, appreciate, or benefit from our docks in any way, please consider making a donation. Even a modest contribution of $10–$20 can make a meaningful difference when combined with the support of others in our community.
All donations are tax-deductible and should be made payable to the Skaneateles Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Contributions can be mailed or delivered to the Chamber Office at 22 Jordan Street.
