Trout Creek PTO: Bringing Parents, Teachers, and Community Together
A Conversation with the Trout Creek PTO
At Trout Creek Academy, we believe that education is a team effort, and the PTO is at the heart of that team. We’re a volunteer-run nonprofit made up of parents, teachers, staff, and local businesses, all working together to support our students. Our goal? To build school spirit, create strong community connections, and provide both hands-on and financial support to make TCA the best it can be.
What’s the PTO All About?Think of the PTO as the bridge between parents, teachers, and the school. We’re here to make communication easier, answer questions, and help parents feel connected to what’s happening at TCA. We also love bringing families together, whether it’s through fun events, volunteer opportunities, or partnerships with local businesses—especially those owned by TCA parents!
Big Initiatives This YearOne of our main focuses this year is strengthening the connection between TCA and our community. We’re making it easier for parents to get involved and talk with the school about everything from academics to social events. Plus, we’re working hard to support our local businesses and create partnerships that benefit everyone.
We also love helping out in the classroom! Whether it’s assisting with fun, hands-on projects or finding community sponsors to provide extra supplies, we’re always looking for ways to make learning more engaging. For example, when our fifth graders did a science project using cereal boxes, Bronx House Pizza stepped up to help get those boxes to a food bank afterward. That’s just one example of how we’re all working together to make a difference.
What’s Coming Up?One event we’re especially excited about is Parents’ Night Out at Palm Valley Outdoors Bar and Grill. It’s going to be a great evening with food, music, and awesome raffle prizes donated by local businesses. Whether you want to network or just relax with fellow parents, it’s the perfect way to unwind and support the school at the same time.

Where Does Fundraising Money Go?Every dollar we raise goes straight back into the school. Thanks to PTO fundraising, we’ve been able to provide musical instruments, sports uniforms, teacher appreciation gifts, art supplies, and even much-needed items for the school nurse’s office.
One of our biggest successes so far has been the Fall Festival—a fun-filled event with inflatables, food trucks, face painting, a pumpkin patch, and classic games like potato sack racing. Another highlight was the Light the Night Event, a holiday fundraiser that helped support HUGS for Kids. And let’s not forget the amazing teacher luncheons, made possible by our incredible sponsors who go above and beyond to show appreciation for our staff!
How You Can Get InvolvedWe can’t do this without you! Whether you have a little time or a lot, there are so many ways to get involved.
- Become a PTO Member: Signing up at the beginning of the school year helps fund events and programs.
- Volunteer: You can help with a single event, assist with teacher luncheons, decorate for an event, or even run a booth.
- Take on a Leadership Role: We’re always looking for parents to help with sponsorships, event planning, treasurer duties, or coordinating volunteers.
- Attend a Meeting: Our meetings alternate between morning and evening times to fit different schedules. This is the best way to stay in the loop and share your ideas.
Even if you can’t volunteer, just being a PTO member makes a difference. And if you’re new to the school or area, this is a fantastic way to meet people and feel more connected to the TCA community.
Looking AheadIn the long run, we’re aiming to build lasting partnerships with sponsors and continue growing our events. One exciting addition we’re planning is a Mom’s Night Out, giving moms a chance to network, share experiences, and connect with other TCA families. More than anything, we want to make sure our teachers, administrators, and students have everything they need to succeed while fostering a close-knit, supportive environment.
Join Us!We’d love for you to be part of the PTO! Whether it’s through sponsorship, volunteering, or just attending meetings, every bit of involvement makes a huge impact. If you own a small business, consider sponsoring us—we offer marketing opportunities through our website, social media, and even banners on the school gates.
