Getting to know Janine Igliane and The Home Selling Team

Helping People Buy and Sell Homes for 13 Years

Janine grew up in Southern California.  After High School, I went to college at Cal State Long Beach and graduated with a degree in Communications.  I actually got married the same week I graduated from college.  Three years later my husband and I moved to Arizona.  We have lived here since 2006.  My husband is a firefighter for the city of Scottsdale.  We have 3 kids.  Our oldest daughter, Elise, works in my real estate business and is currently studying to get her real estate license.  My second oldest daughter is a Senior at Gilbert Christian High School.  And our youngest and only son is 13 and in the 7th grade at Gilbert Christian.

Tell us about the events that led up to where you are now…
I started working in the hotel industry while in high school and did that all the way until I delivered my oldest daughter.  I worked around the Disneyland area, so it was a fun time.  I started with an internship at the front desk of a hotel and worked my way up to an Assistant General Manager and Director of Revenue positions.  I really enjoyed that career.  But when I had my oldest daughter, I knew I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom.  7 years and 3 kids later, my mom was at my house recovering from a surgery when she had a massive stroke.  My husband was working in California at the time and commuting.  And my youngest was just a couple months old.  Life was hard and because of my mom's condition, I wanted to start working and doing something part-time to help financially take care of my mom.  That was when I decided to get my real estate license.  I originally thought if I could just sell one house a month, I would be happy.  It quickly became a business I fell in love with and now I have a small team and sell about 100 homes each year.

What is your business, how/why did you start your business?
I have a real estate business and focus on helping people buy and sell homes in the East Valley.  I started as noted above.  That was in 2013, and I have been doing this for 13 years now.   My dad was a Realtor my entire life and constantly asked me to join him, but I was never interested until I had a need in my family.  What started out as a part-time thing quickly grew as I fell in love with the business.

What is unique about your business?
My business is focused on serving the communities we work in.  We like to give back in whatever way we can.  We do an annual charity event called Cornhole for a Cause, where we pick a local family that is in need and raise funds for them.  We also like to partner with the House of Refuge, and do their largest food drive of the year.   When it comes to helping families buy and sell real estate, I believe in serving my clients at the highest level.

Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what advice can you offer to the residents?
The biggest advice I would say is to take care of your home while you own it.  Too many people wait until they are going to sell to do the upgrades and just overall maintenance that the home needs, and then they say to me that they wish they had done it sooner, so they could have enjoyed it.  Also, I would say to reach out to me as soon as you have the thought to buy or sell.  It is never too early to call me.  I can help you prepare your home for sale, so you don't have to scramble to get it ready.  Lastly, routine maintenance can make a big difference in your home.  So get your ACs serviced, your roof looked at, and stay on top of any plumbing issues.  This will help you when you go to sell!

What else we should know about you, your family, or your business?
My faith in Jesus is so important to me.  I strive to honor Him in all I do.  I want to be a good steward with every client that I get to work with.  I want to be a good steward in my community.  It is always about the relationship with my clients and doing a good job for them.  I am blessed to have learned all I know from my Dad.  And now I hope to share all of that with my own daughter as she looks at getting into the business.
