Where did you grow up? How long have you lived in the area? Tell us about your family

Dr. Shadow grew up in Texas, while Dr. Vu's hometown was in Missouri.

Tell us about the events that led up to where you are now…

Being immigrants and the children of immigrants who left war-torn countries behind, we were driven by a strong desire to achieve self-sufficiency while also making a positive impact on the lives of others, doing what we love. We recognized that in America, there were no limitations to our dreams and how far we could go. Both of us pursued studies in the sciences and later delved into dentistry, ultimately specializing in orthodontics. For more than 20 years now, we have been dedicated to practicing orthodontics, and it has been an incredibly gratifying and fulfilling career choice. Owning our own practice has provided us with the security we sought as immigrants and has allowed us to support our families.

What is your business, how/why did you start your business?

Our business is an orthodontic practice, and we started it with a shared vision to make a difference in people's lives by creating beautiful smiles and promoting their confidence and well-being. We wanted to offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, where every patient feels like a part of our extended family.

Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what advice can you offer to the residents?

We advise residents to prioritize determination, pursue their passions, and embrace their dreams without limitations. Our journey as immigrants taught us the value of perseverance, and we believe that following one's passion in a profession can lead to a truly rewarding and fulfilling life.

What else we should know about you, your family, or your business?

Our journey as immigrants has been a significant influence on who we are today, shaping not only our careers but also our dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of our patients. It is an immense honor to have reached a point in our careers where we are now treating the children of former patients, witnessing the confidence they have gained through their smiles, and knowing that we've played a part in transforming the lives of so many individuals. Our practice is built on the foundation of compassion and care, guided by the shared purpose of creating beautiful smiles and promoting the well-being of all those we serve.
