Bringing Innovation to Wellness: Hydro Air Treadmill Lab
From Family Inspiration to Cutting-Edge Recovery—A New Approach to Movement and Healing

Where did you grow up? How long have you lived in the area? Tell us about your family
I was born in Phoenix and have 6 other siblings who all live in the Gilbert area. We moved to Queen Creek in 1999 when I was 10 and I graduated from Queen Creek High School in 2007. My wife and I were married in 2012 in the LDS temple in Mesa and we currently live in Florence with 5 children, age 9 and under.
Tell us about the events that led up to where you are now.
After my wife and I were married, we both attended BYU. She studied Vocal Performance and I studied Exercise Science and we each graduated in 2015. Shortly after graduation, I was accepted into the Physical Therapy Doctorate program at Northern Arizona University (NAU). After graduation in 2018, I began working in outpatient orthopedics with the dream of one day starting my own facility.
What is your business, how/why did you start your business?
Hydro Air Treadmill Lab opened in 2024. The Hydro Air story begins with my dad, Kevin, on one of his attempts to lose weight and regain control of his physical health. During one of these attempts, he discovered a business suite that rented time in an above ground water treadmill. This was a life-changing moment where he was able to discover an avenue of movement that had long since been lost to him: running. For the first time in at least 10 years, he could run!!! But this was only possible in water. As I progressed through my PT program, we would discuss our vision of incorporating these treadmills in my practice some day. It wasn’t until 2023 that we seriously began to consider making our combined dream a reality. As we began developing the business model, our dream morphed into a much grander vision! We discovered compelling research confirming the significant beneficial impact of combining healthy, low-impact movement with other healing, “biohacking” therapies and treatments, such as whole body cryotherapy, hot and cold contrast plunging, leg compression, whole body vibration, red light therapy, massage, and more. Additionally, we have experienced these benefits firsthand. Over the last year, with regular use of this equipment, my dad has lost over 100 lbs and has made significant improvements in his overall health and wellness, including improved cardio function, neuropathy, and effective natural pain management. We began this journey with the goal of improving the health and well being for our family, and now would like to share it with others who have similar goals.
What is unique about your business?
Hydro Air is Gilbert’s premier wellness facility. No other facility can be found which houses all the Gold-standard wellness and recovery equipment that we have. We have taken elite recovery, which is normally available only to professional and collegiate athletes, and have made it conveniently available to the residents in/near Gilbert. We offer exclusive, extended-hour access to members to enjoy these life-changing modalities as conveniently as possible to achieve and maintain improved quality of life and wellness at their own pace.
Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what advice can you offer to the residents?
PTs (Physical Therapists) are functional movement specialists for the body. Whatever restricts that movement (be it pain, vertigo, obesity, injury, or other barriers), we know how to help. One bit of general advice I can offer is that, regardless of where you are on your wellness journey, you can enhance your life quality by increasing or maintaining regular physical activity. The reason why this is so important is because it decreases risk of disease, improves circulation, mental health, sleep, digestion, wellbeing, life quality, and a host of other benefits. We were designed to be physically active daily! For some people, this is quite difficult for a variety of reasons which may include body weight, time limitations, anxiety, pain, injury, restricted mobility, or any number of restrictions. For those individuals, I would recommend not being too critical on “why” this is the case, but instead focus on “how” to make small gains from day to day. Trajectory is more important than position. We designed Hydro Air to make it as easy as possible for individuals to improve this trajectory and to provide the fresh start needed to be consistent and successful.
What else we should know about you, your family, or your business?
Our facility is exclusively accessible to members via keyed access daily from 4am to 11pm, to allow easy access to wellness at any time. Some services can be purchased on a standalone basis weekdays. Those needing additional guidance or physical therapy treatment may also schedule my professional services on weekdays.
