Morgan Rice of Piedmont Home Contractors & Lisa Albertson Properties
A family-run team offering real estate expertise and full-service contracting, proudly serving the Triad and beyond for over 30 years.
Morgan Rice is used to wearing more than one hat. As the Vice President of Operations at Piedmont Home Contractors and a licensed broker with Lisa Albertson Properties, Morgan plays an active role in both the construction and real estate sides of her family’s businesses. “
“I love that we can offer a full turn-key experience,” Morgan says. “We help people find the right home and then help make it into a space they truly want to live in.”
Piedmont Home Contractors was started by Morgan’s father, John Albertson, in 1994 as a home inspection business. Over the last 30 years, the company has grown into a full-service general contracting firm, now serving clients across North Carolina.
“My dad still does a lot of the job estimates himself and still runs the company,” Morgan says. “He’s been doing this for over 30 years, and my mom, Lisa, has always been involved in the business, as well.”
Morgan joined the team nearly a decade ago after completing degrees from Appalachian State and the University of Florida. Since then, she’s become an integral part of day-to-day operations. Three years ago, she also earned her real estate license and began working alongside her mother at Lisa Albertson Properties.
“My mom has been in real estate for years, so it was a natural move for me,” she says. “We work really well together. Between the two businesses, we can guide our clients through buying, selling, and improving their homes.”
One Stop for Real Estate and Renovations
The combination of real estate expertise and general contracting sets this team apart. Lisa Albertson Properties helps buyers and investors find the right property, while Piedmont Home Contractors can tackle any updates or repairs needed, before or after closing, or for a homeowner not interested in selling and just wishing to improve their home.
“We specialize in full home remodels, kitchen and bath upgrades, and anything that comes up on a real estate Due Diligence List,” Morgan says. “We’re used to the pace of real estate transactions, so our team can jump in quickly when timing is tight.”
The company has also expanded its services over the years. Today, Piedmont offers water damage restoration, mold remediation, HVAC, roofing, flooring, plumbing, electrical, and painting – really anything!
“We can come in after a flood or water damage, remove mold, handle the repairs, and restore the property to a livable space,” Morgan says. “It’s all under one roof.”
Their newest service—bathtub and countertop resurfacing—is already gaining traction. “It’s a simple but impactful way to update a kitchen or bathroom without a full remodel,” she adds.
Quality, Detail, and Responsiveness
As a family-run business, customer care is a priority.
“We really pride ourselves on being responsive, detail-oriented, and easy to work with,” Morgan says. “We’re not a massive corporation. People can reach us directly and know that we’re invested in the outcome because our family’s name is on the project.”
The company serves clients from Brevard to Elizabeth City, handling everything from minor repairs to complete remodels. No job is too big or too small, and estimates are always free.
“A lot of people come to us with a vision but don’t know where to start. That’s where we come in,” she says. “We walk them through it step by step, and we can coordinate all the trades needed to get the job done.”
A Part of the Community
Morgan and her husband Clay live in Sophia with their three daughters—Rainey, Laken, and Lula.
“Our girls are all four and under, so life is busy, but really fun,” she says. Her parents live on the course at Sedgefield, and the family’s office is nearby on Gate City Boulevard. They’re also members at Sedgefield and enjoy being part of the neighborhood community.
“My parents have always supported local schools and charities,” Morgan says. “It’s important to us to give back and be involved.”
When they’re not working or chasing toddlers, Morgan and Clay enjoy spending time outdoors and with family. “We’re a close-knit crew,” she says. “It’s been great to work with my parents and now raise our kids nearby, too.”
Looking Ahead
After more than three decades in business, the team at Piedmont Home Contractors and Lisa Albertson Properties has no plans to slow down.
“We don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon,” Morgan says. “We’ve been serving North Carolina for over 30 years, and we look forward to helping more families with everything from home buying to home remodeling.”
