Hello neighbors!
My name is Shane Wagner, and I am very grateful to introduce myself to all the wonderful residents of the Running Man Community. Don’t let the long beard fool you, I am the biggest teddy bear there is. It is an honor to be able to give back to the neighborhood as the new Content Coordinator for the Stroll and Courtney is amazing, as she does so much to plan events for us all. So let me share a little information about myself.
I grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia and joined the Air Force in 1993. I became a homeowner in this wonderful community in 2018 and have enjoyed everything about living here ever since. I am a 27-year retired veteran of the United States Air Force, having retired in 2020 and have deployed to every continent except for Antarctica and I have no desire to go there in the least; I am not a fan of that kind of cold.
I live alone with my 1-year-old female Shih Tzu, Coco, and yes, she is a diva and absolutely knows she is the lady of the house; not sure if she hasn’t successfully trained me. One of the cutest things she does is if I am on a Zoom meeting for work and she hears a female voice, I think she gets jealous and absolutely lets me know about it. Currently, I work remotely from home as a Cybersecurity Specialist for a major international hospital organization and love every aspect of my job as it allows me to keep an eye on the homes of my amazing neighbors, not that there are any concerns that I have experienced as this community is the best!
In my free time, I really love my hobby of woodworking. I find it very relaxing to work on projects for myself, friends, and family as it is a great way for me to get away from computers and create with my hands. There are not many things I cannot create from wood; plaques, box work, furniture, 3-D wood art, and so on. During the warmer months, I enjoy taking long motorcycle rides in the country, and really enjoying the beauty of nature, feeling the wind, and being able to separate from the world for a moment. I am sure you will see me around the community events in the future, so please, come up and say hi as I would love to meet as many neighbors as I can. I am very excited to be more involved with this wonderful community and look forward to seeing you all around the neighborhood.
