Additya Geddam

Aaditya Geddam is a Ruby Hill resident and a senior at Amador Valley High School. Aaditya is a talented tennis player, making his third appearance on the Amador Valley High School varsity squad.

Aaditya started playing tennis when he was eight years old with his father. Tennis has a long history in the Geddam family. Aaditya’s grandfather was passionate about the sport, passing his love for tennis to his son. Aaditya’s father continued the tradition by passing the love of the game to his children.

Aaditya’s favorite stroke in tennis is the forehand. In his opinion, the forehand is the most important shot, but also the most underrated. He has spent many years perfecting his forehand, which requires a lot of focus and precision, forcing discipline and dedication.

Aaditya’s most memorable moment occurred last year when the Amador Varsity tennis team qualified for the CIF State Championship. It was the first time the team had qualified in many years. The season started out very shaky, dealing with injuries and off-season conditioning, but the team persevered, ultimately finishing second at NCS to qualify for states. The team ended up finishing 3rd in the State.

Aaditya loves playing tennis because it is thrilling and gives him a feeling of high energy. His advice to those starting out with tennis is to practice a lot, but enjoy yourself and have fun. He plans to continue playing tennis after high school and for as long as he can. He is thankful for his father for introducing the sport to him and to his family for all their support.
