Place of Hope

We offer a full continuum of care for those in need with programs and services specializing in: family outreach and intervention, maternity care, human trafficking education and prevention for the community, recovery for victims of domestic minor sex and labor trafficking, affordable transitional housing and supportive services for young adults, housing and support for homeless families, foster care recruitment, hope and healing opportunities for children, youth and families throughout our region.

OUR APPROACH
Through faith, our family model approach, and committed service, we are dedicated to providing stable, loving, and nurturing environments and support for foster children while in state custody, following family reunification, pre-adoptive placement, and post-emancipation from care. We strive to foster and support healthy and productive lives, free of fear, endangerment, and most of all abuse. Children and families can find dignity, guidance, and hope through various programs and efforts at Place of Hope at The Leighan and David Rinker Campus – Placing Hope in a Child’s Future.

OUR VISION
With regard to children entrusted to our care and their families, we strive to foster hope rather than despair, potential rather than limitations, healing rather than hurting, belonging rather than isolation, and what the future can be, rather than what the past has been.

OUR MISSION
Place of Hope at The Leighan and David Rinker Campus is dedicated to providing a stable and loving family environment for hurting children and their families. We are committed to meeting desperate needs in our community by sharing God’s love and placing hope in their lives – one child and family at a time.

We knew Place of Hope was a special place from the first time we were introduced to it after relocating to Boca Raton seven years ago.  Since then, we have spent our time, talent and resources to support the children and young adults who call Place of Hope “home”.  It’s mission personally speaks to us, to provide a stable and loving environment for children, youth and families who are hurting.  We have met wonderful friends through Place of Hope who share our same commitment to help foster-care children and young adults aging out of the system succeed in life.  And we are so blessed to be able to provide an apartment in the newest building where two young adults will live and be mentored.  We can’t wait to see what the future holds for them and for Place of Hope!

We were first introduced to Place of Hope over ten years ago by long time volunteer Bonnie Bororian. We were so impressed with the organization’s commitment to ending the cycle of poverty, homelessness, child abuse and human trafficking in our community. The amazing Place of Hope team is constantly working to tackle these important issues that are unfortunately happening to so many children and families right in our area. Their mission of providing a stable and loving environment for children, youth and families who are hurting really spoke to us and we are honored to help and support them. We have met so many kind and generous people during our time with the organization, it has been incredibly rewarding to volunteer with them and we are so grateful for this opportunity to make a difference in our community.

I look at my own kids and I know at 18, they certainly weren't prepared to be self-sufficient and find their way in the world on their own. That’s what these kids in foster care have to do when they age out at 18. If there aren't organizations like Place of Hope, then they're not going to have great success, I feel, because the odds are really stacked against them, especially in this area where it's an extremely expensive place to live.

You can see the difference you can make in the lives of these youth. Their stories and testimony are eye opening. You know about it, you read about it, but it’s truly inspiring when you hear someone’s personal journey coming from their lips. Place of Hope gives them a safe place to live, a place where their children are safe. Without that they would be focused on survival, instead of putting together a life plan whether through work or education.

Place of Hope is successfully solving one of society’s most intractable problems with a perfect balance of caring, planning, execution, and vision.

This is a magnitude that we’ve thought of, but never done before and just feel really good about it, about really stepping up this time. It really does bring tears to your eyes, knowing that when they age out of foster care, they are out on the street unless they have somebody else to support them and a lot of these kids have no family, or they have no hope.
