CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES WITH GRAND MARNIER OR IRISH CREAM
 
PRIZED QUALITIES OF THIS DISH:  This easy, straightforward microwave recipe results in a decadent treat sure to satisfy any chocolate lover.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1-ounce Grand Marnier or Irish Cream (Spec’s sells1 ounce mini bottles.)
  • If making Grand Marnier Truffles: ¼ cup Hershey’s Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • If making Irish Cream Truffles: ¼ cup Powdered Sugar
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. In a microwave, melt chocolate chips and milk for 30 seconds or so; stir until smooth.
  2.  Repeat until the mixture is almost melted but still thick (not runny). 
  3. Stir in Grand Marnier or Irish Cream.  (Add more to taste)
  4. Refrigerate until the “dough” is firm enough to roll. 
  5. Shape by hand into 1-in. balls.
  6.  Refrigerate on a tray until firm. Can do this several days ahead.
  7. Just before serving, roll in Cocoa Powder or Powdered Sugar.
