CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES WITH GRAND MARNIER OR IRISH CREAM
PRIZED QUALITIES OF THIS DISH: This easy, straightforward microwave recipe results in a decadent treat sure to satisfy any chocolate lover.
INGREDIENTS:
- 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1-ounce Grand Marnier or Irish Cream (Spec’s sells1 ounce mini bottles.)
- If making Grand Marnier Truffles: ¼ cup Hershey’s Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- If making Irish Cream Truffles: ¼ cup Powdered Sugar
INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a microwave, melt chocolate chips and milk for 30 seconds or so; stir until smooth.
- Repeat until the mixture is almost melted but still thick (not runny).
- Stir in Grand Marnier or Irish Cream. (Add more to taste)
- Refrigerate until the “dough” is firm enough to roll.
- Shape by hand into 1-in. balls.
- Refrigerate on a tray until firm. Can do this several days ahead.
- Just before serving, roll in Cocoa Powder or Powdered Sugar.
