The Royal Oaks Ladies Association is off to a great start in the New Year

Please welcome the 2026 Executive Committee: Lynn Sperry, President, Morgan Pope, Vice President, Jennie Hampton, Treasurer, Kim Pere, Recording Secretary, Gigi Scott, Membership, Diane Sperandio, Historian, and Shari Poteet, Parliamentarian.

Our 2026 President, Lynn Sperry, and VP, Morgan Pope, have made their mark at just a month into our year. Lynn and Morgan have already organized the year ahead by tapping into the creativity of different members each month along with their group of friends to come up with unique themes for all to enjoy. We’re looking forward to experiencing what Jamie Sumicek and Elizabeth Martin (January), Jody Sydow and Ryland Davis (February), Daniela Ritsco (March), Julie Gray (April), Kindel Burton (May), Brooke Tillemans (June), Diana Waguespack (July), Kim Pere (August), Jennipher Ward (September), Aileen Hansen (October) and Lynn Sperry (November) and their teams plan for us each month.

Thank you to the village of dedicated women who plan our regularly scheduled activities and special events that suit a wide range of interests. This chronological rundown of ongoing activities, along with contact information of those who are chairing each of those committees, is intended to keep us informed. Please go to the Club App for further information and always feel free to reach out to the Committee Chairs with questions and suggestions.

Lunch Bunch at different restaurants on the third Monday of each month. Ana Denena (adenena@sbcglobal.net)andJody Sydow (Jody@tlccorporates.com) are planning new and interesting places to gather. They’ve planned to gather on January 26th at Sylvia’s Enchilada’s Kitchen on Woodway. Lunch Bunch is a great way to get to know fellow Ladies Association members in a relaxed setting and you are always welcome to bring a friend. Watch on the club app to see sign up for the next restaurant choice.

Every Tuesday morning at 10am, Casual Bridge plays in the Ladies Lounge. Contact Nancy Richard(nancywrichard@gmail.com) if you would like to join the group. Some basic knowledge of bridge is required. All skill levels are welcome.

On the last Wednesday of each month, Book Club meets at 4pm in the Ladies Lounge just prior to Happy Hour. Our Royal Bookies Co-Chairs Ana Correa (amrcor@yahoo.com) and Julie Weishar (jweishar@comcast.net), along with different volunteers, lead in the discussion of the monthly book selection. Come and join, even if you’ve not had time to read the book. At January’s gathering, book suggestions will be selected for 2026.

Mexican Train Dominos begins at 10am in the Ladies Lounge on the first Thursday of every month and is co-chaired by Missie Villere (missieV316@gmail.com) and Gerrie Fick (fjimgerrie@aol.com). Missie and Gerrie encourage you to join in even if you have never played before. It’s an easy game to learn and most of the ladies stay to enjoy lunch and conversation together after. Hope on board to join in the fun.

Thursday afternoons at 1pm you will find the MahJongg ladies shuffling tiles in the Ladies Lounge. Trisha Maley(trishmaley@yahoo.com) and Kindel Burton (kindelvc@gmail.com) are our sweet mother/daughter duo Co-Chairs. Trish and Kindel continue to keep everyone on track via weekly emails and texts. If you already know how to play, please come join the fun. Even if you don’t yet know how to play, pop on in and see what it’s all about. Contact Kindel or Trisha if you would like information on lessons to learn to play MahJongg.

The Royal Recipe Ladies gather once a month as different hostesses welcome the number of ladies they feel comfortable accommodating on a day that fits their schedule, most often on the third Thursday of the month. Aileen Hanson (aileen913@yahoo.com) continues to efficiently organize the monthly theme of what each woman prepares for lunch and brings to share in the spirit of “Food, Friendship and Fun”. Morgan Pope hosted a Serbian cuisine lunch at her home on January 15th. Look for upcoming gatherings on the Club App as spots fill quickly.

Advanced Bridge, led by Jane Williams (janerwms@yahoo.com), is an active group playing on the first, third and fifth Friday of each month at 9:30a.m. This group is suited for experienced bridge players.

These excursions are organized by Co-Chairs Shari Poteet (Shari.stack@hotmail.com), Mary Ann Hammerle(mahammerle9@gmail.com) and Brooke Tillemans (brooketillemans@yahoo.com). Julie Gray will be taking a break from her years of organizing events but has already planned a MFH trip to see the Frida Kahlo Exhibition on February 11th. Jan Sparks is also stepping away from her leadership role. Watch the club app for future excursions. Thank you, Julie and Jan, for your dedication. You can now relax and enjoy.

Gigi Scott (gigiscott1@me.com) created a WhatsAppChat specifically for the Ladies Association to be able to send out reminders of our many activities.
