The Holtzmans of RH Farm

Cultivating a Legacy of Family, Love and Rolling Hills Charm

At the end of Portuguese Bend Road, tucked within the rolling vistas and ocean-kissed breezes of this beloved community, lies RH Farm - a hidden gem where family, tradition and love thrive. For Dan and Hallie Holtzman, this extraordinary property isn’t just home, it’s a living reflection of the values they’ve nurtured for over five decades: family, community, and joy in the everyday.

A Family Story, Generations Deep

Dan and Hallie’s story began as high school sweethearts. Married at just 21, they recently celebrated an incredible 52 years together. In his youth, Dan followed a creative path as a professional musician before stepping up at 25 to run the family business, Western Truck Exchange, after the passing of his father. Now in its fourth generation, the dealership has been a fixture in Los Angeles since 1922. That entrepreneurial spirit lives on in their children, particularly daughter Sarah and son-in-law Josh, who co-founded Source One Parts Center, a nationwide online platform for OEM truck parts.

But Dan’s love for music never faded. Even today, he finds joy in singing, strumming his guitar, and perhaps most meaningfully, playing for his eight beloved grandchildren: Brody, Roman, Lyla, Payton, Cora, Hugh, Delilah, and Parker. When he’s not making music or running the business, you’ll find Dan exercising, walking the beach, or playing games with the grandkids under the Rolling Hills sun.

RH Farm: A Flourishing Family Haven

Their home, RH Farm, is far more than just a residence; it’s a vibrant, evolving sanctuary. With sweeping views of Catalina and Santa Barbara Island from the deck, the property offers everything from rustic charm to refined elegance.

The heart of RH Farm is Hallie, lovingly dubbed the “Martha Stewart” of the family. Her green thumb has turned the estate into a horticultural paradise, complete with flourishing vegetable gardens, citrus and avocado groves, and an enchanting rose garden.

Hallie also tends to two grapevines that yield homemade wine each year, shared generously with friends and family. And if that weren’t enough, she manages two active bee hives, bottling delicious golden honey as another of her many heartfelt gifts.

A fully enclosed "secret garden," designed by the couple themselves, includes a hammock, water features, picnic tables, and free-roaming chickens that delight the grandkids. Whether it’s watching the little ones giggle through electric car races or hosting a lively family meal, RH Farm is a backdrop for everyday magic.

Traditions That Bind

Each Tuesday night, the farm springs to life for the cherished "Grandkids Dinner Night," a standing family tradition hosted by Hallie. From home-cooked meals made with ingredients from the garden to storytelling around the table, it’s a ritual that has become the heartbeat of the Holtzman family rhythm.

Hallie also enjoys weekly Canasta games, both in person and online, and has remained an active member of her book club for over 30 years. Entertaining comes naturally to her - whether it’s for holidays, birthdays, or just because - every gathering at RH Farm is infused with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable food.

A Rolling Hills Treasure

What the Holtzmans have created - through their love, work ethic, and hospitality - is something uniquely beautiful. It’s more than a thriving home; it’s a multigenerational refuge where everyone feels welcome. Their story mirrors the very spirit of Rolling Hills: connected, grounded, and brimming with purpose.

From Dan’s music to Hallie’s gardens, from childhood memories in the making to panoramic sunsets over the Pacific, RH Farm stands as a testament to everything that truly matters: family, legacy, and the joy of simply being together.

For the Holtzmans, Rolling Hills isn’t just where they live; it’s where their story continues to grow, one laugh, one meal, and one memory at a time.
