Sea To Me Blankets

For the past nine years, my family and I have had the privilege of calling Rolling Hills home. I grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado, spent seven years in New York City, and moved to Los Angeles about twenty-five years ago. I hold a Fashion degree from FIT and a Business degree from NYU, and I’ve always loved finding ways to blend creativity with purpose.

My husband, Jorge, runs a business consulting firm that specializes in cost optimization. We have two amazing sons—Tyler, a senior at the University of Chicago studying Computer Science, and Troy, a sophomore at Carnegie Mellon University majoring in Computer and Electrical Engineering. And of course, our loyal Labrador Bailey, who’s now nine and brings joy to every day with her boundless energy and affection.

How Sea to Me Began

My best friend, Tara, and I co-founded Sea to Me Blankets with a simple yet heartfelt goal—to bring warmth, comfort, and beauty into people’s lives. We wanted to create something that not only felt luxurious but also made a difference. That’s why we donate our blankets to individuals and families affected by adversity, such as victims of the LA wildfires and patients undergoing cancer treatment.

Each blanket is hand-sewn in downtown Los Angeles from premium faux fur. By keeping production local, we maintain complete control over quality and craftsmanship. We even use the same ultra-soft fabric on both sides of every blanket, so every inch feels equally cozy.

What Makes Us Different

Many companies outsource production overseas, but we’re proud to do everything right here in LA. We buy most of our fabric directly from the mills and hand-finish every piece ourselves. It’s a hands-on, detail-oriented process—but that’s what allows us to deliver something truly special.

Of course, the entrepreneurial journey has had its challenges. Before Sea to Me, Tara and I ran a children’s clothing line, which taught us that simplicity is often the key to success. With Sea to Me, we’ve learned to focus on one exceptional product done incredibly well. Balancing quality and affordability is always a tightrope, but by cutting out the middleman and staying true to our values, we’ve found our rhythm.

Exciting Milestones

We recently achieved a huge milestone—Sea to Me Blankets are now available online through Nordstrom! It’s been such a rewarding validation of our work and passion. We were also just accepted as a vendor for the Torrance Memorial Holiday Event, which we’re very excited about. Our blankets may also be found at Terranea and Annie's Boutique.

Looking ahead, our vision is simple: to continue spreading warmth—literally and figuratively—and to grow in a way that stays true to who we are as a woman-owned, purpose-driven brand.

A Little Encouragement

If there’s one thing I’ve learned through this journey, it’s that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. Pursue your passion, no matter your age or stage in life.

Life Beyond Business

Outside of Sea to Me, my favorite thing in the world is spending time with my family—traveling, exploring LA, playing board games, or enjoying cozy movie nights together. Those moments are what truly matter most to me.
