Stronger with Time
Riverview neighbor and nurse practitioner Cindy Wilson Cloud is challenging women to rethink aging and intentionally build a second half filled with strength, health, purpose and plenty of life.
At 56, Cindy Wilson Cloud has a refreshing perspective on getting older. What if the years ahead are not something to brace for, but something to get excited about?
A board-certified nurse practitioner, entrepreneur and national clinical trainer, Cindy has spent much of her career caring for women. After 15 years in medical aesthetics and a professional life centered around women’s health, she has had the unique opportunity to age alongside thousands of women she has cared for over the years.
Now, many of the conversations happening in professional settings are becoming personal. Questions surrounding menopause, changing bodies, strength, relationships and aging are the same ones Cindy is exploring in her own life. That shared experience has fueled a passion for helping women feel informed, empowered and excited about what could be one of their best seasons yet.
Rethinking What It Means to Age
Cindy wants women to challenge the idea that getting older automatically means becoming less. Less strong. Less beautiful. Less relevant. Less adventurous.
Instead, she sees the decades ahead as an opportunity. Women often enter this stage of life with more experience, wisdom and resources than ever before. Rather than focusing solely on lifespan, Cindy is interested in healthspan, which considers not just how many years we live, but how well we live them.
Health, strength, beauty, romance, adventure, culture, success and purpose all have a place in that conversation.
Start Small. Start Now.
One of the biggest mistakes Cindy sees women make is waiting. They wait to get stronger, prioritize their health, take the trip, pursue the dream or simply put themselves back on the list.
Creating change, however, does not have to mean completely overhauling your life. It can begin with taking a walk, eating more protein, lifting weights, getting better sleep, learning something new or calling a friend. Small, positive decisions compound over time.
Cindy encourages women to consider what they want this chapter to look like. Consider how you want to feel and how you want to move, travel and live. Then, begin making choices that support that vision.
When something meaningfully changes in your energy, sleep, strength, mood or ability to enjoy everyday life, pay attention. Ask questions, seek guidance and advocate for yourself.
A Beautiful Ordinary Life
Cindy and her husband, Chris, have called the Northshore and Riverview area home since 2020. With two grown sons and their little red Cavapoo, Rueby, Cindy is finding plenty of joy in the ordinary. She enjoys working out, walking Rueby, traveling with Chris, sharing dinner with people she loves, and living in a neighborhood where she can walk to Rosecomb, take the golf cart to Publix, and still be minutes from everything Chattanooga has to offer.
These days, success looks a little different. It is less about creating a life that simply looks good and more about creating one that genuinely feels good.
Perhaps that is the heart of Cindy’s approach to aging well. The goal is not to desperately hold onto a younger version of ourselves. It is to become intentional about who we are still becoming and recognize just how much possibility may exist in the years ahead.
Ask yourself how much possibility may still be waiting on the other side of this question.
What do I want the second half of my life to look like?
Then, Go Build It.
