BUILT ON COMMUNITY

For Ethan Bowen, success starts with family, grows through community and comes back to Chattanooga.

Growing up in Flintstone, Georgia, Ethan Bowen thought Chattanooga was the “Big City.” Raised in an agricultural community just outside Chattanooga, he was drawn early to the city’s energy, beauty and Southern charm. More importantly, he learned something that would shape nearly everything he would build later in life. Community is everything. Today, Ethan is a husband, father, entrepreneur and community leader whose life is deeply woven into the place he has always called home.
ROOTED IN RELATIONSHIPS
Ethan’s path to CH Roofing began with an opportunity he has never forgotten. Max Alvayero, Eddie Contreras Sr. and Eddie Contreras Jr. took a chance on him and trusted him to help build the company alongside them. Today, Ethan is co-owner, VP of Operations and VP of Marketing. But he does not describe the men beside him simply as business partners. “They are absolute family to me,” Ethan says. That loyalty comes directly from the way he was raised. When someone believes in you, you show up for them. When people trust you, you take care of that trust. It is also how Ethan approaches customers. CH Roofing is intentionally not a “turn and burn” or storm-chasing company. Ethan and his partners want long-term relationships with the people they serve. “Life is hard enough as it is,” Ethan says. “Home repairs shouldn’t add to that stress.” Their goal is to take some of that weight off a homeowner’s shoulders and be a team they can call for years to come.
FAMILY AT THE CENTER
For all the businesses, events and projects on Ethan’s calendar, everything eventually leads back home. His wife, Jordan, and their children, Ella Rose and Henry, are his why. “Everything I build, every long hour, and every event I pour my heart into comes back to them.” When he gets time away from work, Ethan’s favorite moments are often the simplest: taking the kids to Chattanooga Lookouts games, catching a movie or bringing them along to community events. He wants Ella Rose and Henry to experience Chattanooga, become part of it and grow up loving their hometown as much as he does.
BUILDING SOMETHING BIGGER
That same passion has made Ethan a familiar face beyond the roofing world. Known as a “serial entrepreneur,” he is co-founder of the Chattanooga Jazz Festival and The Black Creek Mixer. He has also served as VP of Communications for the City Center Council and recently stepped into the role of President-Elect. The common thread is not business. It is people. Ethan loves creating reasons for people to gather, whether through live music, local events, networking or simply a good conversation. And when he thinks about what comes next, his vision is bigger than another successful venture. “I want to leave this city better than I found it.” For Ethan, that means creating lasting connections and continuing to invest in the community that shaped him. It also means giving Ella Rose and Henry something worth watching. He wants his children to grow up knowing that caring about where you live matters. Showing up matters. Standing by people matters. Because that kid from Flintstone who once looked at Chattanooga as the “Big City” never really stopped looking toward it. He just grew up and became part of its story.
THE TEAM BESIDE HIM
For Ethan, CH Roofing has always been about more than the work happening on the roof. It is about the people standing beside him. He co-owns the company with Max Alvayero, Eddie Contreras Sr. and Eddie Contreras Jr., the men Ethan credits with giving him an opportunity that changed his life. The larger CH Roofing crew includes Tommy Igou, August Paredes and Austin Jones, along with a growing local team. Together, they are building a company centered on long-term relationships, honest communication and what Ethan calls “professional calm.” They are not interested in being a storm-chasing, “turn and burn” roofing company. Their goal is to become the team homeowners know, trust and call for years. That philosophy is simple: take care of the home, take care of the customer and take care of each other. For Ethan, the people in these photos are not simply his team. They are part of the family he is building with.
