New mother-baby suites were designed with growing families in mind, from new creature comforts like 60% more space – perfect for family bonding – to adjustable lighting, dedicated lactation support and a hospital-grade pump in each room. Mom and baby feel relaxed and supported by a team of specialists that includes a pregnancy navigator, obstetricians, pediatricians, postpartum nurses, lactation consultants, dietitians and social workers.

 

NICU enhancements that opened this spring feature 19 additional private family suites – two of which were designed just for twins. Suites include sleeping space for parents, allowing them to stay overnight and remain with their baby 24/7 – something no other NICU in Southwest Louisiana offers. Other amenities include a glider chair for parents to hold their babies for skin-to-skin contact, private bathrooms with showers, workstations, state-of-the art-Philips monitoring, and dimmable lighting.
