Meet Hazel Mae

Meet adorable 2-year-old Toy Poodle Hazel Mae, who lives with her humans Hugh and Michele Brashier and their granddaughter, Madyson McBroom.

Madyson got Hazel Mae for her 18th birthday. She had never had a dog growing up because she and her family traveled a lot and never had time to dedicate for a pet with school and sports. However, when Madyson’s 18th birthday was coming up, her grandparents told her that she could have anything she wanted, and that same night Madyson began looking for a dog. Madyson got Hazel Mae two days later from Princess Puppies in Alexandria, LA.

The story behind Hazel Mae’s name is directly connected to her color. She happens to be the same color as a hazelnut. Hazel Mae loves to wave her two white paws and beg anytime she sees her favorite people and wants a treat or attention.

The best thing Madyson says about finally parenting a dog is that Hazel Mae has become her little best friend. Anywhere Madyson goes, Hazel Mae goes along. Once to twice a week, Hazel Mae gets a pup cup from Starbucks or CC’s. About twice a month she is brought on field trips to Petco or PetSmart for a new treat or a toy. Hazel Mae has a bed inside her kennel that is 10 times her size and also has her own wardrobe. Hazel Mae is definitely the favorite in the family.
“She has the sassiest little personality and if she does not get her way, she will back talk and give you her mean eyes,” states Madyson. "Hazel Mae has made my life much more entertaining, enjoyable and meaningful."
