b1BANK, a Louisiana and Texas-based community bank with deep roots in Acadiana, is partnering with Moncus Park to launch the b1BANK Backyard, a transformative new space located just behind the Paul A. Doerle Sr. Farmers Market Pavilion. This is more than a development project; it is a commitment to creating a place where neighbors, families, and small businesses can thrive together.

Designed in collaboration with LAND Architecture, the b1BANK Backyard will turn an undeveloped part of Moncus Park into a shaded, multi-functional European bosque. This design blends beauty with purpose. Newly planted trees will strengthen the health of the historic live oak grove, while a state-of-the-art subsurface stormwater detention system will help manage runoff and improve water quality. These thoughtful enhancements ensure the park remains resilient and welcoming for generations to come.

Once complete in 2025, the Backyard will become a central gathering space for Lafayette.
