Torian Law: A Neighbor You Can Trust at the Closing Table

River Ranch neighbor Ben Torian brings decades of real estate expertise to every closing.

There is a moment at every closing table that Benjamin Torian says never gets old. "I love seeing the smile and excitement on the face of a first-time homebuyer," he says. "I'm happy to have played a small role in getting them to that pivotal point in their lives." That feeling, multiplied across more than 1,500 closed transactions in the Acadiana area, is what drives everything at Torian Law.

When Ben launched Torian Law on January 1, 2021, his vision was straightforward: provide legal services with unmatched clarity, professionalism, and personal connection. What began as a full-service real estate litigation and business law firm has since evolved into one of Lafayette's most trusted names in real estate closings, with the vast majority of the practice now dedicated to helping clients move smoothly into new homes and investment properties.

Ben isn't just a closing attorney—he's your neighbor. He and his wife, Brooke, live in River Ranch and are raising their daughters here. That sense of local connection infuses every part of his work. "When someone from this community chooses Torian Law," he explains, "they're not getting a faceless title company. They're getting me—someone who's fully invested in the same community they are."

A Foundation Built Over Decades
Law runs deep in the Torian family. Ben's grandfather, John G. Torian II, was a highly respected Lafayette attorney, and two of his uncles, Robert Torian and Michael Torian, followed the same path. As for Ben, he jokes that the career choice was clear early on—"unless I was going to become a professional baseball player."

His hands-on education started at 16, when he began abstracting title for his father, an oil and gas Landman, in Lafayette Parish. He continued that work through college at LSU and into law school at Loyola University New Orleans, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2010. After graduating, he launched his own abstracting and leasing company, managing real estate projects across Louisiana and several other states—before the pull of home eventually brought him back.

"The time away wore on me," he admits. He joined a regional firm in 2015, where his practice centered on real estate title litigation—representing title insurance companies, resolving defects, and fixing the complications that arise when closings go wrong. It was the kind of work that taught him exactly what can unravel in a transaction, and how to stop it from happening in the first place. After five years, he was ready to go out on his own, leading to the creation of Torian Law. In 2023, peers and clients alike recognized the result: Ben was voted Best Real Estate Attorney in Acadiana.

The Difference an Attorney Makes
For buyers and sellers in high-end communities like River Ranch, real estate is rarely a casual transaction. The numbers are significant, the timelines are tight, and the details matter. What Torian Law offers is something large title companies often can't: a licensed attorney personally involved in your file, available throughout the process, and reachable when questions come up.

"Most people think all title companies are the same," Ben notes, "but they are not." The difference at Torian Law is real-time communication, careful attention to title history, and the ability to catch and resolve issues before they ever reach the closing table. Clients get clear explanations rather than legal jargon, someone who answers the phone, and the confidence that comes from working with an attorney who has seen virtually every complication in the book.

Torian Law's guiding principle puts it simply: Honest Treatment. Clear Advice. Smart Strategies. Always Available. For many clients, real estate is one of the largest financial decisions they'll ever make—and Ben's goal is to make it feel seamless from the first handshake to the final signature.

Invested in Acadiana
Ben's commitment to this community extends well beyond the closing table. Torian Law sponsors the Ragin' Cajun Football, Baseball, and Basketball teams and supports organizations including Acadiana Animal Aid, the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, Hogs for the Cause, and Camp Bon Coeur, which supports children with congenital heart defects. "Giving back to the community is a core value at Torian Law," he says.

At home, Ben and Brooke are raising their daughters, Amelie (14) and Stella (5). Stella has overcome two open-heart surgeries and is, as her proud father puts it, "perfectly healthy now." When he's not at the office, you might spot him around the neighborhood walking Maximus and Roxie, the family's dogs, or riding around on the golf cart with his family. For anyone preparing to buy, sell, or refinance in Acadiana, Torian Law offers something that's genuinely hard to find: deep legal expertise with a personal connection to the place you call home.
