11th Annual Fulfilling Families Luncheon

Highlighting the Importance of Supporting Foster Families in a Shifting Landscape

Co-chaired by River Oaks resident Justine Klinke and Chea Kelly, the 2025 Fulfilling Families Luncheon benefiting Arms Wide Adoption Services was a heartfelt celebration of community, compassion, and the power of connection for children experiencing foster care.

Held at the elegant Briar Club on a beautiful Houston day, the 11th annual luncheon brought together supporters and advocates for an inspiring afternoon. Guests enjoyed a warm welcome with cocktails, followed by a seated lunch, all while learning about the transformative impact Arms Wide has on the lives of children and families navigating the foster care system.

The event raised an impressive $200,000 in support of Arms Wide’s critical services, bolstered by a generous $25,000 matching gift opportunity from a devoted friend of the organization—a challenge that attendees enthusiastically met and exceeded.

Guests were especially moved by the luncheon’s keynote speaker, Jamerika Haynes-Lewis, who was crowned USA Ambassador Ms. She shared her powerful personal journey and spoke about how she is using her platform to advocate for children in foster care and elevate awareness around the unique challenges they face. Her message underscored the importance of stable, loving families and the long-term impact of community support.

Klinke and Kelly expressed gratitude for the community’s generous response, noting the importance of collective action in helping more children find the safety, love, and stability they deserve.

As the event came to a close, guests left not only inspired but reminded of the lasting impact they can have on a child’s life—one family at a time.
