Lowell and Silvia Munoz Price Love Working and Playing in Regatta Bay
For Lowell and Silvia, life on Westwinds Way in Regatta Bay represents the perfect balance between work, family, and the beauty of the Emerald Coast.
Sylvia and Lowell are relatively new to the neighborhood but already see why residents love it here. “Regatta Bay really represented the best of all worlds for us,” Lowell explains. “Its proximity to everything—wonderful beaches, great dining and shopping, and access to work—made it clear this was where we wanted to be.”
The couple closed on their home at the end of March and are still settling in, but they already feel connected to the area. “Our favorite thing about living here is being able to enjoy the scenery of the Emerald Coast and its beaches,” Silvia added. “It never gets old.”
Their path to Destin is as dynamic as their careers. Lowell grew up in a military family, moving frequently across the U.S. and abroad. Silvia, originally from Peru, came to the United States in 1999 after completing medical school to continue her training. Over the past 25 years, the couple has managed demanding dual careers while raising their son, Javier.
“With Javier now in college out in Colorado Springs, we wanted to settle down in a place where we could continue our fulfilling careers and also improve our quality of life during downtime, especially now as we near retirement,” Lowell said. “Destin was the answer.” Even though Javier is away, the family loves finding new ways to stay connected and share experiences.
The Prices first met in 2000, when Silvia was the Chief Resident Physician at a hospital and Lowell was working as a pharmaceutical representative for Pfizer. “We met in a very professional setting, but it didn’t take long to realize we had a strong connection,” Silvia recalled. They married in Kentucky, Lowell’s family home state, and have now been married for 22 years.
Their professional lives remain impressive. Silvia is an Infectious Diseases physician, world-renowned medical expert in controlling the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in hospitals. In addition to completing medical school in Peru, she earned a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Miami. After a distinguished career in academic medicine, she decided to focus on frontline care. “I really wanted to get back to serving my community directly,” she shared. “Now I am part of Emerald Coast Infectious Diseases, providing medical care here in Destin, and it’s incredibly rewarding.”
Lowell has built a successful career as an executive in healthcare services and life sciences. Recently, he founded PricePoint Consulting, LLC, a firm dedicated to helping companies with growth strategy. “I’ve spent 25 years working in this industry,” he explained. “Now I’m excited to help businesses scale effectively.” A graduate of Norwich University, the nation’s oldest senior military college, Lowell also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Norwich Board of Trustees.
In their downtime, the couple stays active with exercise, travel, and time with friends and family. “We love hosting people in our home,” Silvia said. “It’s been such a joy to open our doors and share meals with new and old friends.” Silvia has embraced water sports, taking up paddleboarding and kite surfing lessons. But her biggest passion is pickleball. “I’ve met such a strong community of friends through pickleball,” she commented. “I’ll be competing in local tournaments, which I’m very excited about.”
As they continue to put down roots, Silvia and Lowell are eager for what lies ahead. “We’ve lived in many places, but there’s something about this area that feels like the right fit at this stage of our lives,” Lowell said. “Between our careers, family, and the opportunities to enjoy the coast, we feel very fortunate.”
For the Prices, Regatta Bay isn’t just an address—it’s the foundation of their next chapter, filled with meaningful work, lasting friendships, and the simple joy of watching the sun set over the Gulf.
