As winter bids adieu and the freshness of spring envelops Regatta Bay, the women of our community are already dreaming of far-off destinations. During our recent Ladies Luncheon, I posed the question: if money, time, and obligations were no barriers, where would you go? The answers varied, yet a common thread emerged.

#7 Egypt

Newcomer Jan Ryerson, residing on Sailmaker, expressed her desire to explore the wonders of Egypt, particularly the iconic pyramids in the Giza plateau – Menkaura, Khafre, and Khufu.

#6 Australia

Teri Wirth, also a recent addition to Regatta Bay, envisions traversing the vast expanse of Australia. Did you know it boasts the world’s longest golf course, stretching over 850 miles? Bring your golf clubs Teri and Scott.

#5 Fiji

Our pickleball queen, Sharlene Fox Denton, craves seclusion in Fiji, aiming to snorkel in its "soft coral capital" and hike through topical forests on inactive volcanoes like Mount Tomanivi.

#4 Japan

Captivated by Japanese shows during the lockdown, I yearn to experience Tokyo like the Aya in Tokyo Girl and witness the grace of a Maiko or Geisha in Kyoto like on the show, The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House.

#3 Greek Islands

Suzy Spence plans a sailing adventure through the enchanting Greek Islands. We can picture it now, wind blowing through her luxurious hair, salty tan, billowing sun dress while munching on grilled octopus and watching the sun set across the whitewashed village of Santorini.

#2 Mediterranean Cruise

Several ladies anticipate a Mediterranean cruise, exploring Barcelona, Rome, Venice, lavender-filled Hvar, and the coastal treasures of Croatia. There is so much for Jill Johnson to experience and for JoAnn Wallis to enjoy between her grand-daughter’s wedding on the ship.

#1 Italy

The unanimous winner on their travel bucket list is Italy. Peggy Crossley dreams of Florence, while Cindy Campbell and Linda Thomason envision the allure of the Amalfi Coast, with its oversized lemons and scenic Vespa rides along the coastal cliffs of Positano and Amalfi.

As these ladies embark on their adventures, we wish them "Bon Voyage!"
