Regatta Bay Ladies Gear Up for Competition

The women golfers at Regatta Bay participate in the South Bay InterClub League (SBIL) competing against member teams across the panhandle from Destin to Panama City. Typically, during the fall season, you can find upwards of 56 women competing in a modified stableford format for 18 holes at rotating golf courses. Teams are made up of women from different clubs and compete not only as a foursome, but their individual score goes toward their club team score.

Allie Gagnon, Regatta Bay’s InterClub leader told us, “Regatta Bay has a talented and motivated group of lady golfers who are looking to better their second-place finish in the SBIL from last season.  To help us achieve this goal, we've begun team practices to strengthen each part of our golf game.  I am impressed by everyone's eagerness to learn and improve”.

Each club will send two teams to each InterClub match. Allie will send out a request to play before a match and the first eight women to volunteer will represent Regatta Bay. There are 25 ladies from Regatta Bay that will rotate play among these matches.  Gagnon says, “with this group of hard-working ladies, we will definitely challenge for the top spot in the SBIL this coming season".

Play begins on October 15th at the Sandestin Raven Golf Club and finishes at Kelly Plantation Golf Club on March 4th. There are a total of seven matches over five months. Our ladies will host the league on November 6th at 9:00am. Come on out and cheer our women on!
