An Evening of Flavor and Community: Tequila Tasting at Dudley’s

On Monday, August 11, more than 50 residents and Stroll business partners gathered at Dudley’s Irish Pub for a lively and flavorful evening—a Tequila Tasting event hosted by Beth Moses of Dudley’s Irish Pub and Bryce Lob of Una Vida Tequila. The gathering was more than just a tasting; it was a chance for neighbors and business partners to connect over good food, fine spirits, and a welcoming community atmosphere.
Guests sampled four distinct types of tequila from Una Vida, each crafted with care and tradition, as well as freshly mixed margaritas. To complement the spirits, Dudley’s served up delicious pizza and creamy spinach and artichoke dip, while Liz Lieberum added a sweet finish to the evening with her homemade cookies. A door prize, generously provided by Bodyworx Concussion & Physical Therapy, was awarded to Denise Denning, a resident of The Moorings, adding a touch of excitement to the night.
What made this event unique was not only the camaraderie but also the story behind Una Vida Tequila. Grown in the rich soil of Jalisco, Mexico, Una Vida begins with 100% Blue Weber Agave plants that are carefully harvested by skilled Jimadors. Only the piña—the heart of the agave—is used in production. The result is a pure spirit with no additives, reflecting authenticity and craftsmanship in every sip. Their Reposado tequila is aged for nine months, while the Añejo matures for a full 24 months in American white oak barrels before being bottled in Mexico and shipped to tequila enthusiasts worldwide.
At the heart of Una Vida’s excellence is Zandra Gomez Santiago, recognized in 2024 as the Best Woman Distiller by the Women’s International Wine & Spirits Competition. With over 18 years in the industry, Zandra’s expertise and artistry shape the flavor profiles that set Una Vida apart.
The brand itself is rooted in passion and perseverance. Co-founder Zach Conley, raised in Wentzville, Missouri, discovered his love for the industry after college football and years of experience with a tequila start-up. His partner, Wichita native and Kansas State University graduate Bryce Lob, began his career co-founding a Bloody Mary company before discovering his true passion for agave spirits. Together, Zach and Bryce built Una Vida Tequila from the ground up, forging relationships in both Jalisco and the U.S. to bring their vision to life.
For Bryce, the journey is as personal as it is professional. When not sharing the story of Una Vida, he enjoys life in Wichita with his wife, Katy, their daughter, Reese, and their two dogs, Dudley and Aspen.
The August tasting was a testament to what makes community events so special: a blend of great company, unique experiences, and local connections. From the smooth complexity of Una Vida Tequila to the warm hospitality of Dudley’s Irish Pub, residents left with new memories—and perhaps a deeper appreciation for one of Mexico’s most treasured traditions.
